The room, location & the 1 staff member I had actually contact with were great. The toilet makes a weird noise, when flushed, but not unbearable. However, that is where the positives end. I booked for 2 nights but had a medical emergency the first night & had to go back home for emergency surgery. Even though I bought the insurance from Travelocity, the hotel would not change the booking to just 1 night. They still charged for 2. Okay, fairly insensitive to my situation but they are trying to make money. I was out of my room by 10 am, so they would have had plenty of time to clean & re-rent the room, but they chose money over customer service. I wish that is where my story ended. After my surgery, I happened to check my bank account & found a $99 charge. I tried calling, several times, with no answer. I called travelocity to see if they had some insight. The hotel answered for travelocity & informed they'd tried to bill Expedia & when it didn't go through, they just charged me, instead. No call to me to verify which agency I booked through, just made the decision to double charge me. So, to recap, I'm now paying for 4 nights when I only stayed 1! The hotel told travelocity they would refund the $99, however it's been a couple days & still no refund & they still are not answering the phone. If I get the refund, I will update my review. 9/8: I was issued the refund for the 2 additional days they charged. 9/10: The hotel's owner, Jim, personally called me to set the situation right. He profusely apologized for all the confusion. He offered to comp the room for the night I did not spend at the hotel do to the emergency. After speaking with him & feeling that he whole-heartedly wanted to correct the situation, I will definitely be staying, again. Nice rooms, great location & clean. Oh, & he assured me the toilet noise issue has already been...
Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous I just called to reserve rooms for this weekend he asked me what days I told him Saturday and Sunday he automatically said they have a three night minimum to stay he said they have rooms but if I don’t get the three nights Friday, Saturday and Sunday he wouldn’t rent the rooms to us.. what’s crazy is my husband and I have stayed here a few times even on holiday weekend and was never told we had to reserve three nights in order to stay when I tried telling him we have stayed there before without having to reserve three nights he rudely said that was their policy. This motel is just being money hungry and greedy I know it’s a privately owned business but what they need to remember is the people who have stayed there before and now being turned away because money hungry people. That’s okay though we found another Hotel and got to reserve a two night stay. Businesses like this will regret trying to rip people off to stay there. He also told me because it’s a holiday weekend and the last day of summer they wouldn’t reserve without three nights stay. Well I hope you eat your words because this fall and winter when you’ll be praying for people to come stay at your motel. People like my husband and myself and all of our friends come to this area all year round not just the summer months and we spend thousands upon thousands dollars each year at motels. We will NEVER again give this motel penny and We will make sure and tell everyone we recommend to stay here at the Blue Way Inn what this motel did and how dishonest and money hungry they are. Shame on...
Read moreStay was fine til check out. Our AC didn't work at 1st but they moved us rooms and all was great staff was friendly. Check out a lady walking by but waiting on us to check out when I went to our truck at 10:38 asking if we were already checking out while tapping on her watch. I told her I knew check out is at 11 but she was just rude in general. My daughter and SIL experienced same rudeness by this woman! I went back into office to let other lady know we enjoyed our stay until this rude lady was questioning our check out. The same rude lady asked me what I wanted as I was walking to office. I let her know I didn't want yo speak to her. She leaves the room she was cleaning to follow me to the office. As I'm explaining issue to the other lady. She pops around corner and says what did I do how am I rude. Ugh 1st off you're worried about me hurrying to check out then why did you stop cleaning a room to follow me knowing damn well it was to complain about you then have nerve to argue with me that you're not rude. I asked if she was the owner because of how she was acting. She says she is then tells me to wait called someone on phone. I have no clue what she is telling me to wait for. Come to find out she lied and then says she just works there and never said she was the owner while the owner is on the phone. So now she's not only rude but...
