Rock City Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Rockport

I'm giving 5 stars because i really want to see a decent coffee roastery come out of Maine. The employees were great and the selection was wide.

But there are some very fundamental problems with the way they are handling their coffee, and if compared to a cafe outside of Maine it is very much below average coffee.

I would really like to see them study their field more, and perhaps lessen their wide variety of beans to a few beans of better quality.

The pour over was not prepared right and served way too hot. The espresso was not very strong and tasted like stale beans were used.

They're going to have to seriously educate themselves on a lot of things before I would call them coffee connoisseurs, but I really hope...

These guys are great. We were here for a different reason than most - we learned of Rock City from a family member and stopped in one day because we wanted to put coffee in welcome bags for our wedding. Rock City had a number of options which we solidified with Kevin a few weeks out from the event. A few days before we picked up a bunch of ground 1/4lb bags of their coffee, even including a custom label. Our guests loved both getting the coffee and drinking it! The coffee is beyond amazing.. it's crave worthy!! We placed a small order online (we live in Cleveland) and it came super fast! The people who we have spoken with on the phone with just so very nice and were incredibly helpful. But the coffee is just out of this world and we will definitely be placing another order and recommending them to all our friends and family!!
