We ordered for pickup. We got the Enchiladas de Cliantro and the Top Shelf Fajita Enchiladas. Our order was ready quickly - only 10 minutes from the time we called. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and immediately offered to seat us with menus in hand. We explained that we had called in an order and they already had the food ready. We were impressed by their readiness as the restaurant seemed busy. After arriving home, we were ready to eat - this place has lot of good reviews.
Food Review: Both dishes had very little refried beans and very little rice. The rice was nice and moist, however, minimal flavor. Rice was very bland. Refried beans tasted good, but nothing special about the flavor.
Enchiladas de Cilantro - good flavor, but underwhelming. Portion size was very small. Chicken inside was cooked well.
Top Shelf Fajitas Enchiladas - this dish was also underwhelming. Overall soggy. Chicken was slightly dry and not wrapped inside of the enchilada. Chopped chicken was placed on top of the enchiladas and concentrated on the outsides of the plate. There was an abundance of cheese and sour cream which was completely overpowering - Unfortunately it seemed like flavor was trying to be made up by the use of these ingredients. While the chicken, if eaten separately, had a unique flavor, it did not come through when eating a full bite with the enchilada. I omitted the onions. Bell Peppers were minimal and not crispy and I wasn't able to taste the flavor of the peppers at all. Very unfortunate because this could have contributed greatly to the overall composition and flavor
Salsa: Red Salsa had a good flavor and tasted fresh, but it was pretty spicy. My boyfriend couldn't even eat the salsa because of the spice. If there are different types of salsa available when dining in, it might be better to send two different kinds of salsa with take-out orders. Chips were normal.
Price: overpriced for level of quality and quantity. Maybe we would have gotten larger portion sizes had we eaten in, but take-out portions were...
Read moreMy husband and I recently moved to Rockwall and immediately set out to find a Tex mex restaurant that we could enjoy as much as the one in our former town. We were thrilled the first time we dined at arboledas as the food and salsa that they serve is outstanding. Our second visit was also great. However our most recent visit was frustrating to say the least. We arrived at 8:40 on a Tuesday evening, they do close at nine and being a server myself I immediately let the girl who sat us know that we would be in and out and not keep them long. We had literally been sitting at our table for less than two minutes before someone was shouting across the restaurant that we needed to order because the kitchen was getting ready to close. We shrugged it off and ordered our food shortly thereafter. As we continued to dine we were appalled by how unprofessional the staff was. First of all, they had rap music with curse words blaring on the restaurant speakers, then that was over shadowed by the more aggressive rap music blasting from the kitchen. Good thing we were not accompanied by children. We understand the staff was getting ready to close the place and have no problem with them doing their closing work but it was very rude as well as disgusting that they were actually sweeping around our feet while we were eating our dinner. Our server was very sweet and attentive and the food was hot thankfully. I’ve been in the restaurant business for decades and I’ve never experienced such blatant disregard for professionalism anywhere I’ve dined or worked in. This reflects very poorly on the management and the establishment all together.
To the owners response, this was at the Rockwall location. I appreciate your response and addressing the issue. I don’t want to stop dining at your restaurant but my husband may take a while to...
Read moreI used to eat here, years ago and thought I'd try it again. Man, how things change! Its not all bad, Melanie, my waitress, was really good. The food tasted good, but the portions were tiny. I ordered a full sized plate of chicken fajitas, which cost just over sixteen bucks. What do you now get for this? A plate with sauted veggies and eight thinly sliced pieces of chicken breast. Plenty of rice and pico, though. All this is to be put on a 5 or 6 inch street tortilla. I question my waitress, if this was a lunch special, and she informed me that it was the full dinner. OBTW the lunch special is SIX THINLY SLICED PIECES OF CHICKEN! To sum this up, it is not a good value. Sixteen bucks and you walk out still hungry. Doubt very seriously I'll ever be back. Too many other places the serve a good meal for...
