Location: Despite this area of Rockwall being irritatingly dangerous to navigate through because of the speed discrepancies of numerous people going from parking lot speed to service road speed and vice versa, the restaurant itself is safely tucked inside the parking lot of a Costco that has an easy turn in point, allowing for stress free parking lot navigation away from the entrance point and the awful service road traffic.
Atmosphere: This was my first time ever eating at an In-N-Out, and the inside eating area was clean, had fixings (salt/pepper/straws/napkins/etc.), was inclusive for disabled peoples, and had many types of seats for sitting alone, with groups, or as a couple and/or family; really nice.
Experience and Food: The servers and cooks friendlily greeted me as I walked in with a, "Ayy, we got another one!" which was a bit disarming because I had never been to a burger place before this time that greeted me as such, but I liked it. They got my order spot on correct (cheeseburger with grilled onions and everything but pickles), despite them saying that they didn't grill the tomato, but I really enjoyed the quality of both my burger and fries nonetheless. I got both for such a low price too, all this making it well worth the 5-10 minute wait, usually inflated due to the volume of...
Read moreI love In-N-Out and this store is no different. The reason for the 2 star review is because they don't know how to wrap a protein burger at this location.
I've been going to In-N-Out since the 80's and I've had a lot of protein burgers.
Every other location wraps the patties with lettuce making a kind envelope for the patties to sit in. With the lettuce wrapped around the bottom and sides, everything, including the juice stays inside when you take a bite. At this location for some reason they just put one piece of lettuce on the top and one on the bottom. As soon as you take a bite, boom, everything shoots out the bottom. Half way through the burger I have juice dripping down my elbow. Not an exaggeration. I get a 3x3 animal style protein burger and it gets very messy.
I've asked them to redo it, and explained what I was talking about, but they had no clue and just did it the same way again. I gave up. Unfortunately this is the only location close my house so it's either eat at this location or don't have In-N-Out. Like I said "I love In-N-Out" and the burger is still absolutely delicious the way they do it but it would be so much better if they wrapped the protein burgers the same as every...
Read moreI have been to in-n-out locations in every state that they are in even being born next to the original. I don't think I've ever had less than a 5 star experience (4 star at the least) but this location was just bad.
It started off great with no line (can you believe it) and a very friendly cashier. That's where it ended. I waited 27 minutes for my order despite it being the least busy I have ever seen an In-n-out (remember, 1 cashier and still no line). The animal style fries had the spread and onions in a single line down the side of the tray (not on top where it usually is) and there was less than there should be. The chocolate shake was about half vanilla. The double double was good, but other than the grilled onions did not seem to have the animal aspects to it. It was just off.
The lobby was not at all to the standards I have come to expect. There were several dirty tables and from my seat where I am writing this I count 3 pieces of trash on the floor. All 3 pieces have been there since I got here a little over 45...
