Soulman's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Rockwall

We were there on July 2nd at about 8pm. There were not many customers, but the service was very slow. It took the girls way too long to make our dishes. They were very disengaged and seemed confused on what to do. The food in the first window looked good but when we sat down to eat we were disappointed. The brisket was not really warm, it was dry and only a bit tasty. It should of had more of a smoky flavor. The side dishes were almost gone. Almost every container at the counter was empty and what was in there looked old, crusty and dried up. We asked about getting more freshly made but they said it would take a long time. The comments from others at our table were about the same, not warm to cold food, bland, not good. The ice tea they gave us was very weak. When I asked why it was so weak the girl behind the counter said it was old. I asked if they had fresh tea and she said yes and went and got another jug. Since she knew the tea was old and weak she should have got new fresh tea without having to be asked. They were also out if napkins. How does a restaurant run out of napkins? The restaurant looked dirty as well. Floors, walls, ceilings looked nasty. The cold air return vents in the ceiling were heavily coated with dirt like they had never been cleaned since this place opened up. We will definitely never come back to...

Where do I start so initially I was heading to the burger joit then this smell hit me and my nose led me to this place from the old barn feel to the warm welcome inside it was like back at home in the Carolinas and the food game was on point I'm sorry but that ribs didn't have to hit like it did it was too good the juice was locked inside and ya could see it the smoke ring was on point and vibrant and when I took a bite it exploded with flavor in my mouth this intense but relaxing spice if flavor and tenderness from the meat and that was without sauce and with it brought this relationship of spice and chill into one I'm barely awake now to write this review bc it's hitting good gonna K.O. me in a few so to sum this up the ribs on point with that spice and smoke ring the beans hit you with that bold but relaxing flavor and you would think they don't give you a lot nahhh fam ya get your money's worth and then some and the spicy sauce with the sausage was on a different level so fokes I reminded go here when y'all want that good BBQ and no...

I thought Texans knew Bar-B -Que, I'm really surprised to see so many 4 and 5 star ratings! I got the three meat plate with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Ribs and brisket were dry, very dry w/o much flavor at all. They looked dry before I ordered and I asked the girl if they had been sitting there for a while, to which she replied "No, they just came out." I almost turned around and walked out, but, against my better judgement, trudged on. The pulled pork was OK, again, fairly dry, but not as bad as the others and with a smoky flavor. The sides seemed to be sitting there a while, the fries were just barely warm, but the Texas creamed corn was pretty tasty. The portions were also quite small, I got like three ribs, off the end of a slab that was tapered. Overall, I am 100% positive you could find better (and probably cheaper) BBQ at a more local place as opposed to this franchise joke. I should have known better,...
