Waffle House — Restaurant in Rockwall

This Waffle House has absolutely lost the plot.

Food: Our food was ice cold WHEN it arrived. My wife ordered two waffles. Me and my friend tried the new Del Monico steak. We weren't expecting great things out of the steak but it was a new item and we wanted to try it. When the food finally started to come out of the kitchen the steaks arrived first, room temperature steaks, they had cooked them before the hash browns so they sat out waiting on the has browns. It took an addition 10 minutes for the first waffle to come out. The waffles came out one at a time with about 3-5 Minutes between each waffle. They served my pregnant wife last who had only ordered waffles. They brought out her first waffle which was only half the size of a normal waffle, I guess they ran out of batter. Five minutes later she got her second waffle. When I got up to see what was going on a few times the cook wasn't helping out server at all. He was just standing there watching our poor server struggle, just lazy. He wasn't cleaning his disgusting area, wasn't cooking, just standing there watching his coworker flounder.

Cleanliness: Remember that cook just standing there? Well he could've been cleaning because this was the filthiest waffle house I've ever stepped foot into. Every table but one was covered in food debris. Floors were filthy. Workspace was filthy. All with a lazy worker just standing there watching it all go down.

Atmosphere: filthy.

Service: Our server tried, pretty hard to do her job when the cook staff can't be bothered to make a few waffles at the House of Waffle.

Price: Waffle House has lost the freaking plot. Before tip a meal for three, a double stack of waffles and two ice cold "steaks" was $58 after tip it was $70. Is Waffle House trying to compete with Texas Road House with price alone? Unfortunately this will probably be the last time we go to Waffle House for several years. Good riddance. This place is a health code shut down...

What's up guys this is your friendly neighborhood Google guide with another real life scenario review first of all I am giving them a 5-star rating because of the staff especially my favorite waitress I remember the first time I went there with my son and we started praying for our food and when I opened up my eyes my waitress was right next to us. her head bowed down, her eyes closed with respect. I was astonished to see that, because you don't see that anymore. all you see now is just negativity of everything. I feel that if they keep the right staff with such a good heart. this place will continue to be a 5-star rating in my eyes and heart. anyways the food here is great. I love the diner type style of eating breakfast. makes me feel like if I was living back in those days, even though I'm very young LOL. to be honest it feels a bit more Cozier than IHOP or Denny's because they treat you more like family more than just a customer. that is my opinion and you have the right of yours. so come on in and try it out for yourself to experience a good style breakfast experience with your family. enjoy! there you have it guy's. this has been another real life scenario review by your local Google guide.till...

I have came to this waffle house multiple times and I always ask for a military discount but I always give it back to the underpaid employees. Apparently, the waffle house at the Rockwall, TX location, there is an ex convict who mentioned to me his time in prison was the same as my service and I disagreed with him. Soon after an argument ensued. I left the establishment to prevent things from escalating. Now, everytime I go to waffle House the man immediately notices me before I even get out my vehicle. He threatened to call the police on me the last time I walked in and I had forgotten about the incident. The way he conducts himself and his mannerisms are not what we expect from a Waffle house employee. How? Most of the employees who work at this establishment have never given me issues and vice versa. It's almost like I feel like this place is a front for something else. Could you imagine serving your country all these years only to be prevented from entering a place that you fought for? Rockwall Waffle house has turned into a dump and no wonder why the parking lot is empty...
