Steak ’n Shake — Restaurant in Rockwall

This has to be the worst experience at any restaurant I’ve ever had. Literal worst. It was Saturday night, and it was pretty busy. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated, but no biggie. Then the server took our drink order and food order about 10 minutes later. We didn’t get drinks till at least 10 minutes after that, and it was from a different server. We waited over an hour for our food, and my burger wasn’t even what I ordered. I ordered a double garlic burger and instead got a plain single burger. The guy offered to take it back but I had waited literally over an HOUR so I was not about to wait another hour for a new burger. While we were eating, I heard servers talking badly about other servers, and some servers yelling at others telling them to bus their tables. I heard them fighting over who was going to take the newest table, etc. Then I saw some food come out, I don’t know what it was, it looked like a salad or something, and this one server grabbed it and said “wow, this is just now coming out?” And he went and threw it in the trash. Then I saw another server run towards him and say “why did you throw that away?” And he GOT IT OUT OF THE TRASH AND TOOK IT TO HIS DAMN TABLE. Literally took food out of the trash and served it to a paying customer. Anyway, I finish my meal and my boyfriend and I order milkshakes, because it looked like the one thing that hadn’t been taking forever all night. Nope, wrong. The milkshakes took 30 minutes. All in all, we went in at 6:15 and left at literally 8:15. This was the first time in my entire life that I haven’t tipped a waiter. I am a server myself so I make a point of tipping well, but honestly I’m frustrated that I even paid for the meal at all considering how miserable it was. And how long it took the cooks to make a mediocre burger. I will NEVER come here again. I get that they were busy, but to put it into perspective, they had 5 servers and about 15 tables. That’s three tables a piece. I don’t really see where all the flustered “I’m sorry we are so busy” came from (which I was told by several servers). Where I work, there are 40 tables and on a Friday or Saturday night when every table is full, the five servers have no issue keeping things professional and keeping customers happy. They must have the worst servers and cooks in the area I guess....

Long 🚗 from North Little Rock, AR. Needing some nourishment brie heading 🏡. Never been to Steak n Shake, sooo why the hell not. Ordered a simple combo, no onion no cheese cause that's how you eat a 🍔. They didn't seem busy, oarking lot was rather empty and no cars in front of me but ine pulled behind me. Speaking the drive thru attendant I had to say excise me several times because he wouldnt speak up, strike #1. I received my order and about a minute after pulling of I decided to try the 🍟, warm amd slightly cold, strike #2 but I I had already commited and was needing my 🛌. 👌so, I did substitiute my drink for a shake after all its part of the name ...! A simple 🍓 milk shake... How the does M&M's end up in it ...?!!? Oh, and before myborder was delivered I have to pull forward to service the car behing me ...? He pulles off after getting his meal then backed up to the window to talk to them again, assuming they screwed up his order, then pulled around and parked and went inside to give them a piece of his mind, assuming. Now I'm 🏡 amd the 🍔. It was tasty to say the least but lacking in meatiness, if that's a word. Flat, almost bridle, almost not worth it but that got the part of my order right that mattered, mustard instead of mayo or ketchup...! And the 🍟, thw good thing about that you could tell the aren't frozen and/or made with peanut oil or something. Most likely won't visit this location again but will try another and hope for a better experience. Maybe I was already cranky from my business trip ...? Maybe because I don't eat fast/casual/junk food on...

So I have met a fair amount of waitresses in my life. Some good and some bad, and I have to say I have full respect to the good ones. Tonight I took my Mom out to steak and shake for her birthday, As soon as we walked in a waitress promptly informed us "Most of our tables are not clean, so i can seat you at one of our clean ones or wait for one to be cleaned." 1. How can most of your tables not be cleaned? O.o As soon as the customer leaves that's when the table should be cleaned, correct?? We were seated, our drinks taken and orders taken then left to our own devices. While we were waiting on our food to come, we noticed how the tables we still uncleaned and how no one bothered to correct it. 2. Really people, it's been at least 20mins, they should have been cleaned. Our food came and like any human, I had to potty, but their bathroom made me seriously debate on waiting till i got home, it was a hot mess, urine on the walls toilets not flushed... Just no. I came out and my mother informed them on how it needs to be tended too, No one went in to tend to it. And our waitress nor the manager came back. We went to pay and my sister ordered a milkshake, and as we were waiting for the change we saw some guy, reach in to the freshly cooked fries and just grab one. He wasn't even on shift! We also found where our waitress was, in the kitchen running her mouth to the guy making our shake, no wonder it took a whole 15min. I will never go back...
