UPDATE: Psychotic?? She actually said that? WOW! If you read the owner's response, you see what kind of people you're dealing with. There was not a single lie in this post. NOT ONE, and I have NEVER had a restaurant owner speak this rudely to a customer review! But then again, I've never needed to leave a review like this before.
I had been getting sick, but believed that it was from somewhere else, because I believed the owner was telling me the truth from day one, that they were using ONLY CANOLA oil. Found out later (by accident from the daughter) that they actually use a product that I was allergic to all along, and they didn't tell me, even though I had specified that I cannot have soybean oil. That is when everything came together for me, and THAT was why I was getting sick, and my hands were breaking out. I was getting it from there. Like it or not, it's the absolute TRUTH.
You should NEVER call a customer a liar (no matter how angry you are), but psychotic?? That's awesome. Those are some beautiful true colors you're showing. And notice, not ONCE was an apology given for not making my food or fulfilling my order incorrectly, which would have solved the allergy issue, but they INSIST that the fries go with the meal, no matter what the customer requests. PERIOD. And now the CUSTOMER is the one who is PSYCHOTIC, says the OWNER of the restaurant that can't serve a meal as requested. What a shame. Thanks! I hope you do well with your business.
If you have food allergies, don't trust them to be honest with you! I use to absolutely LOVE this place, until I kept getting sick and found out that they were using a blended oil with soybean which I am ALLERGIC to with my Celiac, after on many occasions they told me they only use canola. I've requested on my last visits that they just give me the chicken skewers WITHOUT the fries, but apparently you get what THEY want you to have and the customer's needs are NOT important. When I told them my allergies, the owner's response was "oh, that's all?" and they continued serving me what I told them I was allergic to, and lied about the frier content. I knew then that they don't care about their customers. I waited over a year, then tried door dash, and once again requested NO FRIES. My order showed up with my chicken setting on a bed of fries. I'm done!...
Read moreFirst things first, this place serves you the real thing, not the American version. So if you are expecting that than I would not recommend this place, BUT the real thing is so much better than the American versions for this cuisine. If you are not a picky eater, definitely come and try the real deal. Just be forewarned, its hard to go back to the not so real versions after.
Now starting with the review. The food here is great and the atmosphere is what you expect from a mom and pops establishment. I very much enjoyed my time here with my husband and we definitely plan to come here a lot more often even though its an hour drive. The fact that everything tastes the way it should and is not overly sweet or seasoned is a big welcome. Now that doesn't mean the taste is lackluster, its very much there, just it has natural flavors that come out with the little amount of seasoning they do add, and its really juicy to boot.
The last bit of the review is the location. The spot is very small and quaint. They do have seating inside and outside, but if you are coming with a party bigger than 4 I would let them know. The place is pretty small and they would have to make that spot available beforehand. The good news for big parties is they do offer door-dash and the food is so hot coming out that it would very likely still be hot if not warm when it arrives at the location for delivery. I do recommend eating in one time though to enjoy what they did with the place, I enjoyed reading all of there quotes and looking at everything they had covering the wall. I literally do not think they had a single spot of blank space on the wall, which was a delight. I love looking around me when I'm eating and this place did not disappoint!
Either way, if you want to experience Greek Cuisine the way it should be, definitely give this place a try. It's worth it, welcoming and just a pretty...
Read moreUpdate 2024- They upgraded their Point of Sale system so you get a copy of your receipt. Hurray! I've stopped by here about 3 times since the first time, they are consistantly good, using fresh herbs, and cooked to order. The lamb skewer is amazing! Yum! Love the Greek music as well, puts you in the right mood. I still recommend.
We enjoyed our time here. We stopped by Cinemark and watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 and after enjoying that movie we wanted to try a new Greek restaurant. I had heard about this place doing searches but I never saw it from the road, it's tucked in past Culver's. We both ended up ordering the Chicken Souvlaki and it was delicious. My friend mentioned how tender the chicken was, the fries were very tasty and seasoned, the Greek salad was fresh, and the pita bread was warm. We also tried their dessert and my friend tried their loukoumades (donuts) and I had their melamakarona (spiced cookie). Sorry about the spelling. Her Donuts were the best I'd had and I've been to quite a few Greek festivals and restaurants. Most likely I'll be back to try more Greek specials. The atmosphere was a very casual restaurant with multiple tables both inside and outside, that had blue and white gingham cloths and various Greek pictures and vases...
