Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

Went through the drive through, paid 41$ For our meals plus some ice creams. It’s almost like they didn’t even know what I ordered thank goodness we checked the bags before we left had to ask for my fry that came with the basket, the woman asks if that’s all, then had to ask for my blizzard I ordered as well. We asked for a receipt just incase we were missing something else.

Now I understand we’re in FC so everyone has their own way of being nice. But I am sitting next to my wife and this woman, says Mariah on the receipt, not sure if that’s her or not, but starts off with “darling” okay whatever she’s being nice. They she proceeds with “hun” “darling” “sweetheart” at the end of every sentence. It honestly got excessive, and I know it’s just a hospitality thing but I really felt like it was disrespectful...

Odd little place. The customers in the parking lot seemed to know I wasn't from the area or something and were weird. Lots of odd looks or stares and I almost felt like I wasn't in on some joke or something. For a moment I kind of thought I was in the Twilight zone. The Girl at the window was super adorable and friendly to me even though I was unfamiliar with the menu, and by this time I was sort of awkward because of the energy I picked up on before deciding to go thru the drive thru. She acted as if I wasn't though, which sort of showed a level of professionalism you wouldn't expect from someone without years of customer service knowledge it. She was quite young or seemed so. Went to this location at 10:30pm tonight 8/16/2025, and after an extended wait of 5 or so minutes without a person in sight, the 1 person that was eventually in eye shot flat out ignored us. Being that he was pushing a mop we tried asking if someone could help us with some blizzards (even though we were hoping to get some hot food as well if it was available) and he literally turned his back to us and kept mopping and did not acknowledge we were there. So 1 star for food because we did not get any, should be zero stars for service since there was less than none, and the atmosphere was not inviting or welcoming given the situation.
