It's a bit of a line, but that goes with Grand Openings. The gelato is fine and came in reduced sugar, vegan and traditional flavors. There are 3 sizes - single, double and a larger cup (I'm guessing triple scoops). The single is plenty, and comes with a wooden mini spoon, which I preferred to plastic spoons - so score for green sustainability.
We ordered pistachio, hazelnut, and Cookies n Cream. The texture was fine for all 3. The pistachio was my favorite and had sufficient pistachio taste to it, but the Hazelnut wasn't as strong a profile and had an odd after taste. The Cookies n Cream didn't taste like Oreos the way Sonic tastes like Oreos, but I guess that's why they call it "Cookies n Cream". They're topped off with a tasty washer biscuit that provides a nice crunchy contrast to the velvety gelato.
The single cups were about $7 each after taxes - with 20% tip, about $25 in total.
There is a bar with stools by the front window, but unfortunately it's too close to the order counter line, that it wouldn't be easy to grab a seat with the wrap around of customers nearby. Meanwhile, there is a large empty area in front of the gelato display cases that would better serve as the line corral, if they used stanchions to create an "S" queue. There are tables further in, and some bistro tables outside, with wide enough outside window ledges that could seat small bottoms - perfect for kids.
The novelty of a gelato shop is nice to have in this frozen custard loving NWA, so if you've never had one before, you should give it a try. I've had better gelato in other cities, but I appreciate that it's offered locally. I might try it again, but the price point is more than I'd like to continue paying for...
Read moreGelatissimo Gelato -Downtown Rogers, AR- This is a real authentic gelato place that should be making all the local Ice Cream, and Frozen yogurt places very nervous. The place is fresh new, clean and very vibrant. The atmosphere is light, airy, very fun and light hearted feeling. The people working there are very open, kind and seem to know something about customer service. They seemed comfortable with a crowd and experts at dealing with it effortlessly. We walked in with at least 8 to 10 people in line, and they made short work of it. Extremely impressive. Then the variety: looked like 26 + or minus available, I didn’t count. It was very impressed with the quality, and if you do not find the right one it’s not the options available, it you. The counter was very clean, neat, and stocked for the crowds. I expect they will be very busy when it gets warmer. It was 50-ish degrees, and heavy misty when we went in. They have sugar free, gluten free and vegan friendly options. I would say the workers care about the place. You can see by the pictures, and my above review they are going to get a great rating, but my wife and I have decided on a new date night desert destination. My rating: 8.7, that is a very solid A to A+, and my followers know that that kind of rating isn’t easy to come by. #eatdowntown #eatdowntownrogers #eatrogers #eatrogersar #eatsmalltown #eatsmallbusiness #smallbusiness #smalltown #downtown #Gelato #eatlocal #eatlocalgelato #rogersgelato #GelatoRogerAR #gelatissimo...
Read moreWe went on opening weekend and wow was it busy. We strips in line about 20 minutes and finally made it inside. After traveling Italy and tasting gelato we couldn't wait to try this out in our own little downtown of Rogers. We tried vanilla, chocolate and cookie dough ( I believe) . The texture was fine. It still isn't Italian gelato but it's not bad. The vanilla had a funky aftertaste, will not try it again. The chocolate was the best of the three and the cookie dough was ok. I do prefer fruit and basic flavors to all the wild names and flavors they had. Still a good addition...
