I really want to give 5 stars because the food is fantastic and the owners are absolutely great. The place itself doesn't offer drinks unless you go inside; this isn't an issue overall, other than the drink selection is severely lacking - you're stuck with a minimal bar. Don't get me wrong, we've sat outside by the fire pit drinking and hanging out, but stopping by for brunch, you're left with canned soda, limited beer/liquor, or water; unfortunately I can't always drink at 10 am, and soda with breakfast doesn't complement the food. Coffee or juice would be greatly appreciated. For lunch and dinner, lemonade and tea, traditional BBQ soft drinks, would a welcomed option. The atmosphere inside is a little off-putting, it feels like I'm eating in a storage shed as opposed to a restaurant. We love eating outside, especially when it's nice out, but that isn't always possible. I do love that people can bring dogs, but I wish that was limited to patio seating; the few times I've eaten inside, pet owners have not respected that others are trying to eat without pet hair.
My only food complaint is the BBQ sauce selection; the only options are spicy, which I can't eat, or a very thin mustard (maybe vinegar?) based, which I don't feel like complements Midwest BBQ. I'd love to have a more traditional BBQ sauce available. The guests I've brought with me were all in agreement that brisket with a tart BBQ sauce doesn't quite mix well for our area.
I wish I could give it a 5, but it's just missing the atmosphere and drink options that would really set this place apart from the other BBQ places. We'll definitely be back, because it's absolutely delicious, but probably toting our own drinks and bottle of our...
Read moreA great addition to the downtown food experience... Definitely a recommend, even family friendly, hosting a full bar and picnic style eating areas. Prices are fair, not high for the quality of food, which is what you think you should get.
The Brisket, Pulled Pork, Beef Sausage, Burnt Ends... What they should be, nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately, they were out for the day on the Ribs and Chicken. What really made ya want more, the gumbo and cowboy beans, they were outstanding!
What makes this place cool and stand out is the location and building. Even though it's simple, it's neat and a great downtown Rogers, AR spot right next to the new Rogers Music pavilion. We were here on a Friday and had no issue hearing the bands.
So what could make it better... where is the sauce? Now I don't need 18 different flavors, but there were 3, yes, only 3! One with apple sauce, okish, once, but not my new goto, Second up was a spicer hickoryish one, ok but nothing to write more about and then next, a mustard base, which was surprisingly my favorite. It's still not something i want with every bite. And with the meat a touch dry, really could have used a solid sauce. Definitely need to up the sauce game here! (Maybe they were out of the special sauce?)
Other than that, the staff was amazing! Everyone was super nice... one of the bartenders made sweet tea just for my kiddos. But for the grown-ups... a full bar with some great specials! My new fav, $3 Shinners!!!
I'd say this would be a good local lunch spot to catch more options and fresh. Or a great dinner while walking around downtown Rogers....
Read moreDang. I am from Texas and I really wanted to show some love and support for this place…maybe one day I will!
I get costs are high right now, but this just seemed too high for what was received. With bbq, you know the bulk of the bill is because of the meat. I received one pretty small bbq beef cheek. It was pretty good, but I cant justify 19 dollars for this. I also will admit I am a hungry guy. Could just be me.
One of my sides (smoked corn bread) was cold. Smoked corn bread does not taste great cold. I would skip that option or dear god serve it warm.
The other side was the beans. Not the worst, but I’ve just never had bbq beans like that. I think they bell peppers in them? Raw jalapeño on top was interesting. Just not for me so that could be a personal thing.
Not sure where to go from here. Wrights is still the best In the area and if you want good bbq burnt ends with a decent portion to match the price…try woo pig moooie in Centerton!
Things I’d like to see! Warm food always. Maybe a little more of the burnt ends for the price.
Also, the bbq sauce could use work. They were pretty thin. The mustard base one tastes like mustard i tell you what. Would probably be good on a hot dog.
If I go back, I’m gonna try the ribs and that will be the deciding factor...
