Oh geez, where do I start? 9pm ish I was seated at a nice booth, menu and an immediate loaf of soft, warm bread and whipped hard butter, ok...? Then I ordered a martini dry up w Grey Goose. So salty, way too much brine, it looked like a beer. Next one was fine, whatever at this point. Asked the waiter what steak he would recommend? He named several. I ordered the ribeye med rare, house salad w dressing on the side and asparagus. The waiter informed me that the seasoning on the steak is "spicy", that they use a lot of pepper and that's what other customers have told him so he suggested light seasoning..... I asked what's in the seasoning and he didn't know, "different peppers" was his answer. So the salad came, it was cold n crisp. Then came the steak and asparagus. I was surprised to see my steak was sitting in the Asparagus seasoned lemon sauce. This med rare ribeye is laying on a plate in lukewarm lemon sauce! Wow, what kind of steakhouse would do this to a ribeye. I asked a different waiter for a bowl so I could drain my plate. The steak was tender, juicy and cooked to my liking, just not a fan of lemon sauce on my steak. Next, the manager shows up n takes a seat at my booth w out asking.... introduced herself as the manager, no name, and states she understands that I'm not happy or having a problem or something..... I told her about my steak laying in asparagus lemon sauce and asked why would a steak house do that? She said the description of the asparagus side states it comes w 2oz of sauce"love" on it. I told her what kind of steak house puts a steak on all that fluid????? She said she wasn't going to agree or disagree???? At this point and that I could take it up w corporate. More conversation w her over the martini n my unhappiness blah blah, (corporate give her some PR training) I inform her that I'm leaving a review and she tells me I shouldn't slander the restaurant. I told her that I would mention the steak was good etc and that leaving a factual review wasn't slander and that she should not accuse me of lying and to look up the definition of slander.... She then came back w 2 business cards, apologized for not knowing the definition of slander n using that word . She looked upset, I told her we're all human..... Here's the icing on the cake, my waiter starts to pick up the cutting board w bread on it while asking, "Are you finished? Can I take this?" I'm sorry but that's waiting tables 101.... Don't remove food from in front of someone while still eating. I'd rather have paid double n had a nice meal w out a confrontation than my experience tonight meal comped even..... Very bizarre response from the staff here trying to "make it right". PR training very needed for this...
Read moreTo say we were disappointed would be a gross understatement of the experience we just had at LongHorns tonight. This was supposed to be a fun birthday dinner with my family. I called twice to ask about reservations for a party larger than 6. We had a party of nine. They explained they don't do reservations for groups that large, which was fine. I was told that I could show up 30 mins before and it should be fine. We show up 30 mins ahead of time. Only to be side eyed by the hostess and the two women shuffling menus around behind her. She said it would be 30-35 min wait, then kept whispering to the two girls with her. I watched two different groups of ten people be seated within the 30-35 mins after we had arrived. Both families showed up after we did and were white. We are Hispanic. I asked after each family was seated how much longer the wait would be, as it had been much longer than they'd said. I noticed both families were white (we are Hispanic) and so was the hostess. Both times I received an excuse about how they were waiting on the family to leave (fine) and then that our waitress was setting up our table. That was at the 45 min mark. It still took 15 mins after that for us to be seated. Once we were seated, it took 15 mins for us to receive our drinks and 15 more to receive our salads. By the time our food showed up, my husband had to leave with my daughter because we'd had to wait so long she was having a meltdown in the restaurant and didnt actually get to eat his meal there. The food itself was mediocre at best and my husband's steak was overcooked. One of the servers walked food to our table and couldnt tell us how the steak had been cooked and he was insanely rude and seemed to deliberately ignore my dad both times he was trying to address him. The only person who made this experience bearable was Kaylee. She was wonderful and had an excellent attitude. If it weren't for her and Google's limitations, I would have given this place a zero. I'm sad that my birthday was ruined by this awful experience. My husband and I loved eating from this place. It looks like we'll be giving our business to Texas Roadhouse, Saltgrass, and Ruth's...
Read moreI have been a loyal LongHorn customer for ages and typically have great experiences. This past weekend was the worst I've ever had. It won't stop me from going back but it definitely ruined what should have been a great experience as we were out celebrating my birthday.
The pros: The food was great as always. Our steaks were cooked and seasoned well, the spinach dip was delish, and the bread was good.
The cons: Our waiter was terrible!! We waited for ages for him to even come to the table and it only got worse from there. No refills on drinks, clipped answers and interactions, and wasn't even out in the dining room for us to get his attention to get refills. The worst part, and reason for the review, is being treated like a liar ON MY BIRTHDAY! When he finally emerged from the back as we were finishing eating, he asked if we would like dessert. I let him know that yes we would because it was my birthday and I had a coupon for a free dessert. I showed him the email with the coupon code. He immediately was annoyed and insisted on taking a photo of the email with his phone rather than just writing the code down. No big deal, I understand that's quicker. After I put my phone away, he asked to see the email again which I happily showed him and he went on and on about how people would create fake ones all the time and managers had to approve them. And he said something along the lines of "I'm sure you'd never do that..." With a weird look on his face. I replied that it was terrible that people would do that and that I'd be happy to show my ID to prove it was in fact my birthday, but he just walked away. It was so weird. He never rang in the dessert and never came back for us to ask about it. He just completely avoided us so we finally just left when enough time had passed that we knew it wasn't coming. It was embarrassing and saddening that he would think that of us. We just dropped over $100 on 3 people with drinks, appetizers, and steaks...why would we try to get a $10...
