Artisan Wood Fired Kitchen is a culinary oasis where innovation meets tradition, and every dish and drink is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. My recent visit to this establishment was nothing short of extraordinary, as I had the pleasure of indulging in their phenomenal chicken wings, virgin mojito, pesto chicken pizza with mushrooms, and the unparalleled old-fashioned drink.
Let's start with the chicken wings – a true testament to culinary excellence. Each wing was a crispy work of art, infused with bold flavors and cooked to perfection in their wood-fired oven. The seasoning was impeccable, striking the ideal balance between savory and spicy, and each bite was a symphony of taste that left me longing for more.
Accompanying the wings was the virgin mojito – a refreshing concoction that transported me to a state of pure bliss with every sip. The blend of fresh mint, tangy lime, and just the right amount of sweetness was nothing short of perfection. It was the ideal companion to the robust flavors of the chicken wings, cleansing the palate and leaving a refreshing sensation with each sip.
And then there was the pesto chicken pizza with mushrooms – a culinary masterpiece that surpassed all expectations. The wood-fired crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, providing the perfect base for the vibrant flavors that adorned it. The creamy pesto sauce, tender chicken, and earthy mushrooms harmonized beautifully, creating a culinary experience that was nothing short of sublime.
Last but certainly not least was the old-fashioned drink – a true standout in Bentonville and Rogers. Crafted with precision and care, it was a symphony of flavors that danced on the palate with every sip. The richness of the bourbon, the complexity of the bitters, and the subtle sweetness combined to create a cocktail that was both timeless and unforgettable.
Artisan Wood Fired Kitchen has truly set the standard for culinary excellence in Bentonville and Rogers, offering a dining experience that is second to none. From their impeccable chicken wings to their refreshing virgin mojito, mouthwatering pesto chicken pizza with mushrooms, and unbeatable old-fashioned drink, every dish and drink is a testament to their commitment to quality and innovation. Read moreI'll start by saying Neapolitan pizza is my favorite food and I've eat it whenever I can all around the world. I was very excited to find out we finally have Neapolitan pizza in NWA, because I haven't found anything around here that comes close. Unfortunately, the service here is horrible, and the food is just OK.
Service wise, it seems like I had the same experience a lot of other customers have had. The wait staff we interacted with seemed completely untrained. We had to ask for utensils and plates. When food would come out, the person carrying out the food had no idea which table it was supposed to go to and they would go from table to table asking if that table ordered the item. And during interactions, they just seemed to have no training as to how to proceed or interact with guests (like when a table is done with appetizers and there are empty plates). To be fair, there was nothing that seemed malicious or lazy. But the service was not good.
Onto the food. Overall it was ok to good, but not great. There are a few things that would really up this. First, the food was bland. I would be surprised if anyone in the kitchen was tasting how much salt was in the food. We asked for salt and it made a world of difference. Second, the Margherita had mozzarella that was very thick and rubbery and it seemed like the chef was rationing basil--the pizza had maybe 4 tiny pieces on it. We had the meatball appetizer and it wasn't bad but wasn't anything to mention to anyone (little flavor). Lastly, I was disappointed by the pizza options. While the official list of DOC pizzas is short, it would be nice to see more that are in the same spirit. Perhaps my expectations were just out of line, but a great example of this is Pizzeria Delfina's menu.
In summary, both of these issues are ones that can be resolved, and I hope management takes them seriously, because they have an opportunity to provide some great food that no one else has figured out here and have a solid 4 start place. However, while I'm sure I'll be back, I won't be a regular with the current state of...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. We avoid seed oils as a family and right now my daughter and I are gluten and dairy free. When I saw they could do a gluten free crust without egg in it I was excited.
The regular pizza my husband and dad had was apparently delicious. Our pizza was okay. The middle of the crust was super soft and floppy and the outsides were burnt. There was also barely any sausage on it.
Service— the kitchen messed up my husband and dad’s pizza, no biggie, but when they brought it out they had unevenly placed the toppings so my husband side was small. It also took our waitress 30 minutes and 2 reminders to bring our lemons. I used to serve and definitely have forgotten to bring things out before but that was on nights when I was working 4-5 tables that constantly refilled in a multi step high end restaurant on a weekend. It is a Monday and there were maybe 3-5 tables seated in the restaurant and 2-3 servers working them.
Lastly, we should’ve tipped 10% but the server in me felt bad and still tipped just below 20%. Our server came back with our ticket and said, “we have no small change so is the $20 okay?” We were owed back $20.63. Never in my life have I had a server short change me. The proper response would be to give us up to the next dollar amount of $21. I had to keep my own bank as a server and I would always round up more if the bar or another server couldn’t break a bill for me. I know cents may seem trivial but if the restaurant or the server (if she has to keep her own bank) is doing this frequently, they are either pocketing the money or the business is.
Like I said. I stand behind the mission of the restaurant but the delivery and service was quite disappointing for over $75 dollars on 2 pizzas, 2 drinks, and...
