My husband and I live nearby and decided to drop in for drinks and dinner. We're always looking for new restaurants and hadn't been here before, even though we drive past it almost daily.
The bar is located in a separate room off the very nicely appointed hotel lobby. It is a very comfortable space - cushy chairs instead of barstools at the bar, several high-top tables and a more intimate seating area with sofas in a nook in one corner of the room.
We sat at the bar with a view into a patio area. The bartender / server was wonderful. Warm, welcoming, friendly and engaging.
We ordered drinks and dinner. The menu is not extensive but they do have a good selection of starters, sandwiches, a ribeye steak dinner, flatbread pizzas, and desserts. The prices are very reasonable and the food was very good!
We started with an order of onion rings that were excellent Crunchy, not soggy or overcooked. I ordered the half-Cobb salad which was plenty for one. My husband had the "Standard burger" which was HUGE! His order also came with French fries which, while not whole sliced potatoes were extremely good. Nice and crispy with a delicate potato flavor (I think they were mashed and formed, then fried. Whatever. They were G-O-O-D!)
Because it's rather small and more adult oriented space, we were not bombarded with children fussing, whining, crying, etc. (We're older and we have been there, done that enough to enjoy a nice, quiet atmosphere.) The music, while reminiscent of early 2000's Ultra-bars, was a pleasant background instead of an in-your-face cacophony that prevents conversation as is common in so many...
