Anita's Kitchen, nestled in the bustling environment of Detroit Metro Airport, is a delightful surprise for travelers and a culinary beacon in the world of airport dining. This Lebanese eatery transcends the typical airport food experience, offering a menu that brims with authenticity and flavor, particularly evident in their standout dish - the Chicken Shawarma Pizza with pickles.

From the moment you enter Anita's Kitchen, the warm, welcoming atmosphere sets the stage for a memorable meal. The aroma of spices and freshly baked bread is a prelude to the feast that awaits. The Chicken Shawarma Pizza, a creative fusion of Lebanese tradition and modern culinary art, is a dish that demands attention.

The pizza crust is flawlessly executed - thin, crispy, and imbued with a comforting, homemade quality. It serves as a foundation for the succulently marinated chicken shawarma, which is the star of the show. The chicken, steeped in a melody of Middle Eastern spices, is tender and bursting with flavors that are both exotic and comforting.

The genius of this dish lies in the addition of pickles, providing a tangy and crunchy contrast that elevates the pizza from simply good to truly extraordinary. This unexpected twist not only enhances the flavors but adds a delightful texture that makes every bite exciting.

Complementing the pizza are various side dishes and sauces, each adding depth and complexity to the meal. The garlic sauce, rich and creamy, and the smooth, flavorful hummus are particularly noteworthy for their ability to enhance the overall dining experience.

Service at Anita's Kitchen is another highlight. The staff are not just employees; they are ambassadors of Lebanese cuisine, offering warm hospitality and insightful recommendations that enrich the dining experience.

In summary, Anita's Kitchen at Detroit Metro Airport is a culinary oasis for travelers. It offers a unique and delicious escape from the typical airport fare. The Chicken Shawarma Pizza with pickles is a must-try - a dish that not only satisfies your hunger but also leaves you with a lasting impression of the rich, vibrant flavors of Lebanon. An unmissable experience for anyone passing through Detroit...

I don't give 1-star reviews often.

The cashier tried to add an extra side to my order without mentioning it cost additional, causing brief confusion and forcing me to make them edit the transaction before paying.

I ordered a falafel wrap. My receipt says that's what I ordered, too. If what they gave me was a falafel wrap, it's by far the worst one I've had. It had what looked like strips of flavorless meat in it. It was so flavorless I actually couldn't tell whether this was some strange caricature of a falafel or some type of meat. It didn't have a smell.

More about the wrap: Was served cold. Was not filled adequately. For $13 in Michigan, overpriced. The filling was just onions, a few slices of tomato, and a small amount of Yogurt sauce.

Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. I was the only customer at that time, my order was simple, and it was wrong enough that I felt a need to warn people online. If you eat here, double check your order with them. Also, if you have dietary restrictions or are vegetarian/vegan,...

Got a cup of soup via carry out, went to sit at one of probably 15 open seats at the bar. I asked for a cup of water and the bartender pointed at the restrooms behind me across the way in the terminal and said there’s a water fountain there. When she had a large soda machine behind her and multiple soda guns at her bar. She then rudely told me I couldn’t sit there because I got carry out. This older heavier-set bartender woman was extremely rude in such a short interaction, I unfortunately did not get her name. Hoping the owner sees this review for the sake of evaluating the basic human kindness of their staff to paying customers. Was planning to order more food at the bar too before this happened. Can’t believe they treat somebody like me, who did not even say two words to her before getting laughed at for trying to sit at a table in a very dead restaurant to eat the small cup of soup I got from the carry out section. Not worth giving this company your business, extremely rude staff who laugh at their customers who simply...

During a layover at DTW Airport, I decided to give the Lebanese restaurant a try. While the food was decent, there were a few aspects that could use some improvement. The falafel and hummus were flavorful, and the tabbouleh was fresh, providing a satisfying taste of Lebanese cuisine. However, the service was somewhat slow, and it took longer than expected to receive our meals. Additionally, the seating area was a bit cramped, which made the overall dining experience less comfortable. In conclusion, the Lebanese restaurant at DTW Airport offers a reasonable meal option during a layover. Though the food was enjoyable, the slow service and limited seating could be improved for a more pleasant experience.

Hate leaving bad reviews, yet there are some things that need to be addressed. The greeter who is bald head with a rude attitude really needs to be retrained on how to greet customers. There is no need to turn away a paying customer who is trying to sit down and charge their phone. Secondly, to give someone a hard enough time about using a temporary license to order a drink is ridiculous. Just so you know the Secretary of State issues temp license until the official one arrives in the mail. I would think people would know that, but apparently it’s not well known. 2 stars for the service and the nice convo. 2/10 ;-/
