Jolly Pumpkin Taphouse — Restaurant in Romulus

Stopped here during a layover at DTW. Service was actually pretty good — our waitress was really nice and let us swap out a beer after we realized we couldn’t handle how sour theirs are 😅 We thought we could hang… but Jolly Pumpkin sours are next-level intense. The non-sour beer we got instead was decent and way easier to drink.

We ordered the truffle fries and the margherita pizza.

The truffle fries had good flavor, but there was just a lot going on — kind of overloaded with cheese and sauce. Not bad, but not amazing either.

The pizza was way too greasy and cheesy for a margherita. The olive oil basically coated the top, which made it feel really heavy. Would’ve preferred more basil and less oily overall. I did respect the tomato making an indent in the cheese though (see photo).

Music wasn’t too loud, which I appreciated, and it’s a decent chill spot if you have time to kill. Nothing mind-blowing, but not the worst for airport food. Gets...

I think this experience could have been better had we had a decent waitress. This is a "seat yourself" establishment inside of the airport, so you can't expect much. Our waitress blatantly ignored us. She walked pass our table at least 4 times without asking if we needed anything, but was very friendly to the patrons 2 tables over. We saw 2 tables of ppl that looked like us seat themselves only to leave after receiving no service. I can't blame the whole establishment, as the employees on staff were diverse, but the waitress herself, sucked! She needs a course in how to treat everyone with kindness and respect, but most most of all, she needs to just do her dang job. I probably won't visit this...

Terrible customer service. We stood at the front waiting for someone to seat us. No one greeted us or said wait just one minute. A waitress walked up with a menu and placed it at the hostess booth didn't look at me or said anything and we were standing right there. We waited 5 more minutes and another waitress walks by. At this point there were 4 tables available that we could have been seated at. We left and will never patronize this location. I would rather eat McDonald's and spend my...
