My family has gone to Dino’s for many years with birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and more were celebrated there, and every visit in the past has been wonderful, but last night’s experience left a bitter taste lingering. We had a reservation and were entreated with service promptly on a somewhat busy night, but our waitress was constantly rude, dismissive, and overbearing, traits which ought never be observed from anyone in the hospitality industry.
After we were seated she sternly told us we could remove our masks—twice. When she took our appetizer orders she then instantly wanted us to order our main dishes. My family relishes in the experience of poring over menus with calm deliberation to consider the qualities of each potential dish, and when we told her we were not ready she would come back not a minute later with more insistence than before. We felt pushed and rushed, as if our presence was a gross inconvenience for her, and we considered leaving right then because the service was, in a word, insulting. At first we believed maybe the staff were being curt to address future reservations but as the night went on the tables cleared out steadily and the restaurant grew emptier, confirming that the brusqueness was simply out of line.
The coup-de-gras was when we were asked what we wanted for dessert before our main dishes were even finished, and when my wife later asked for the menu to look over the dessert options the waitress balked and mockingly said she had the list memorized, as if we were insinuating that the menu was for her benefit and not our perusal. Ultimately, while we were tempted by the affogato, we decided to go elsewhere for the final course.
The food was passable, but not how I remember it being in the past. My veal seemed tough and was saved only by being drowned in a delicious sauce, meanwhile my wife’s clam linguini was lacking in sauce, and the acorn squash given my mother was tasty yet overly salted. All of these could have been forgivable had we been treated with a little big of dignity and grace. At least the chicken gnocchi soup was divine.
Dino’s used to be our favorite restaurant in Roseburg, but...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into Dino's Ristorante, you're enveloped in a warmth that only a true Italian kitchen can exude. My spouse and I have had the pleasure of dining here numerous times, and it's unequivocally our go-to Italian haven. Each dish we've savored has been a consistent masterpiece, leaving us echoing the high praise, "He stuck his foot in that!"—a southern seal of culinary perfection.
The staff at Dino's are the epitome of excellence, intertwining professionalism with a personal touch that makes every visit uniquely special. They don't just serve; they create experiences, building relationships that transcend the norm. Their eagerness to welcome and embrace us has become a cherished part of our dining ritual, making us feel like the focal point of their day.
It's not just about the delectable cuisine, which never misses a beat in delighting our palates. Nor is it solely about the staff, whose service could rival any five-star establishment. It's the harmonious blend of these elements with the inviting ambiance that solidifies Dino's Ristorante as a top contender in not just Oregon, but anywhere we've had the joy of dining. This place is more than a restaurant; it's a slice of culinary bliss right here in Oregon, and we couldn't be more grateful for its presence in our...
Read moreI usually do not do reviews, but I had to do one for here to advise people of my poor experience. I do not understand the high ratings. I went for the first time to this restaurant out on a date with my wife. With the high ratings, I figured we would have a nice and a romantic dinner with nice service and atmosphere. Well, I was not impressed and will not return. Reasons, I ordered a lasagna for $24 thinking it was going to be a good portion and prepared very well because I love my pasta. This was the price only for lasagna, no salad our anything else. The lasagna was a small portion prepared with oven ready noodles. It was not even real noodles. I ordered a beer, it came out in a glass and it was warm. My wife ordered a margarita and could not drink it because it was 90% tequila. It was like taking a shot of tequila. The service was poor and it was not busy at all. To expensive for the quality. This place is very disappointing. I believe in supporting mom and pops stores and restaurants but not like this. I would much rather go to Olive Garden, Johnny Carinos, or any where...
