Summerfield Tea Bar — Restaurant in Rosemead

Came here for their grand opening at 8am and lined up to get their free items. The lines were so long and we did not get inside until 11:30. The first 300 people get a free drink (tea or milk tea) and some goods. The lines were long but they did have umbrellas set up and free water, which was very nice of them- you can tell they planned everything very well.

Inside looks very nice and is big because it used to be the Carls Jr. There is lots of seating, benches and couches. There is also a kiosk for ordering but they are completely cashless so be aware.

We got the Seaside and Aloha less sugar and ice. I removed the clear boba from the Sunset because I don't really like toppings. The drinks were too sweet and artificial tasting and did not have tea taste though so that was disappointing. They were both pretty average and seemed to focus more on eating the toppings than tea. We also ordered the fries ($7) and popcorn chicken ($8) non-spicy. They have different sauces to choose from and we got ketchup and ranch. The ranch tasted really good with the popcorn chicken. The fries and chicken were both fried to perfection and the chicken pieces were nice and big. The portions were reasonable too.

Overall, the drinks were 2/5 since some people may enjoy those kinds of teas and the fries and chicken were 5/5. I probably would only come back for...

i’ve been here a few times since it just opened and the customer service has been really good the last times i went. it sucks that my experience wasn’t as good as my first few. i ordered the uji matcha freezes and the cashier was really nice and when i got my order it was just regular matcha, in which i told the girl who served me that i had originally ordered the uji matcha freezes and honestly as someone who feels bad about confrontation she just gave me a blank stare as if i was in the wrong. i felt bad and the second time came around and our order was still wrong, the cashier, he said oh you guys wanted the uji matcha freezes right? and so then the third time we got our orders correctly. the same girl had served us that third time (not second) and she just gave us a blank stare again even after we said thank you she just turned around. i haven’t had bad customer service here and it was unfortunate that it felt like i was in the wrong for wanting what i ordered. i understand that it also gets busy but i didn’t expect the customer service to lack already and i was pretty apologetic...

My daughter wanted to come & take advantage of their Happy Hour deal (Fresh Teas & Milk teas is Buy One, Get the same second item for $2) from 9:30am - 5pm.

DRINKS: We ordered the the following:

1. Seaside Fruit Tea (75% sugar, half ice). It was very refreshing and tasty. It was still a tad sweet so I would recommend 50% sugar.
2. Original Milk Tea (100% sugar, half ice). Good standard milk tea with honey boba & grass jelly (we love that). The sweetness was just right at 100% for the milk tea.

ATMOSPHERE: It’s a great set up to hangout & study. Lots of seating with plenty of outlets!!! The lighting is good and it’s not too noisy. My daughter said she would definitely go back to study for school… AND try other items on their menu. LOL!

LOCATION: Great location with lots of parking. You can access the store from Rosemead Blvd through the CitiBank parking or on Valley Blvd. They also have a convenient drive thru.
