Nov ‘23 update from past review. Recent takeout order was truly disappointing. Szechuan Chicken had very little vegetables and lacked flavor.
Sweet and Sour Chicken seemed overcooked. To the point where some pieces were very hard and tough and not edible.
My biggest issue is that the chicken went right from the fryer into the styrofoam container, resulting in melted styrofoam, as shown in the blue circles below. Call me crazy, but I prefer not to consume melted styrofoam or to have those chemicals near my food. We’ll be looking for a new place next time we want Chinese takeout.
We have ordered here previously, and I figured it was time for a review. Consistently great quality food! Tonight as a good example. Egg Rolls were crispy and flavorful. Not a TRACE of soggy grease like so many other places. Almond Chicken was hot, tender and tasty. Singapore Chow Mai Fun was flavorful, filled with tender chicken, pork and shrimp. Here's a money saving tip... lowest cost is calling direct. Order online for pickup, and the prices go up a buck or 2. Order for "FREE" DDash delivery, and prices jump about $5 per plate. (so much for FREE! Not complaining, just be aware of what you are paying for the...
Read moreDisappointed. Ordered sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice. The chicken was pretty dry, not very saucy, see in the photo the bottom of the tray is DRY. Now I see why the menu offered the options of extra sauce or sauce on the side (at an additional charge). I should have selected one of those but I've never received dry sesame chicken unless it wasn't freshly made. The rice was just okay but contained no egg or sprouts. It was literally just rice, oh with some onions. I personally like egg in my fried rice and don't usually have to request, maybe this is their style. I paid the $5.50 upgrade for about six small shrimp. As you can see from the pic, once you eat the shrimp there's little reason to continue. I didn't care for the taste of the egg roll at all so couldn't eat that. Restaurants have their own flavors and maybe this one just isn't for me. It has great reviews so I'm glad others enjoy it, but I won't...
Read moreI moved to the Clinton township area in May 2021. I made Lam’s my choice for Chinese food in the area. This place use to be really good. It has really gone down. In just a year this place went from My Go-to, to a place I’ll probably never go back to. Prices have gone up but quality surely decreased. I’ve even given them the benefit of the doubt thinking it was just a bad day. The doubt has been extended my last 4 visits. The rice is either mushy or greasy. The “chicken” is fried close to burnt and the meat is rubbery. I order shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. I added sesame chicken along with it this time. Terrible on top of terrible and it was pricey. This place will soon be no where near the 4 it’s rated at. A year ago I would have given this a 5 easy. 2 stars was generous of...
