This is usually our go to place for family dinner out. Our family is a family of 11. That being said we are well aware of what our group puts on a staff and are usually very understanding of issues while out dining as it is always a costly venture and we tip well because of the group that we are. This is one of the things we like about this restaurant, however of our last three visits, we have had one good experience. Tonight our family went out, restaurant no more full or empty than usual. The hostess split our group into two(6&5) without permission and sat us kiddy corner from each other in the restaurant, without permission. Confused by the seating but to avoid being confrontational we just decided to make the best of it and sat down. Greeted by two waitress, we were asked to adjust tables so that the bills being split were sitting together, it would make it easier on them. I was already upset by the unplanned split in our group and asked why we had to move, I can show you the split for the bills. The waiter said it was just easier, so again to avoid confrontation, we adjusted. I was upset and explained we didn't ask to be separated or for two different waiters. The plan was to go out together, sit together, talk, eat and laugh. The waitress just kept saying, "I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you, I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you, it just easier on us" and as I continued to express why I was unhappy she perceeded to speak over me asking my husband what he wanted to drink, she asked him twice whike i was speaking. I was speaking to her still. She spoke right over me and shut me out like I wasn't talking.
Then we order, she says she will be back with biscuits and bread in a few minutes. The other table ordered after us. While we waited the other half received their bread, we did not, they received their food, we then received our bread. As the other table finished up their meals I requested the manager so I could speak with him or her about my dissatisfaction with the entire visit up to this point. When she came out, I explained everything. She nervous nodded and giggled and apologized. She explained it was probably her fault, splitting the group she though would make it easier to service us. I explained we came out to be together and we were separated and that half my party was about to be cashing out. She again went into nervous nodding and some I'm sorry, and explanation of training new cooks and rising stars. All awhile not really making me feel like she heard me, made me feel like she had an excuse for everything I said and u just just understand or just go with it, which i had been up to this point. She didn't offer any resolve at all to the issue just excuses. I decided to just walked back to my table. The waitress who spoke over me came to the table twice before the food finally came (about 15-20 mins later) to let my 16 year old son, not my husband or I, directly looked at him and said that the food would be up soon. She would no speak directly to me.
When the food did come it was not Cracker Barrel quality food and We were missing items. The other half of my party was done completely and waiting on us We walked in at 630 were sat about 5-10 mins after we walked in and left there 815. Almost 2 hours at Cracker Barrel tonight, Not because we were so involved in family conversation over good food and lost track of time, which is the reason we all gathered tonight at Cracker Barrel. It was because of a experience that has us looking for another place to gather and have dinner. Makes me sad because for years my family has always gathered at Cracker Barrel. Used to highly recommend...
Read moreThis Cracker Barrel has TERRIBLE customer service!!! One star is one too many. My daughter and I had breakfast on Sunday March 19, 2023 at 10:45am. When our food came out, it was cold. To the point, that the butter wouldn't even melt across the pancakes. The waitress did not come to check on us until 10 minutes our food came. By the time, I had an angry 5yr hungry and could care less about her cold food. For the sake of a scene, I let her eat her food. She's 5, they don't care about the mediocrity of the food, they simply want to eat. Once the waitress finally came back to check on us, I asked for the manager. I forgot to mention earlier that when I ordered a cup of decaf coffee, it didn't come out until my food came out. So about 20 - 25 minutes for a cup of coffee. Back to the story, I asked my waitress to send over the manager. Approximately 10 more minutes had gone by and still no manager. I suspected that the lady standing up there with the iPad was the manager but I was not for certain. Once my waitress came back to the table, 10 minutes later I asked her if she told the manager I needed to see her, she said yes. I asked her to go and remind the manager I needed to speak with her. I watch the waitress walk over to the lady with the iPad, and sure enough it was the manager. She came over right away. This indicated to me that whatever I wanted was not important nor of any value. Once the manager came over, a heavy set black woman I asked her if the waitress told her that I wanted to see her. I told her I had been waiting over 10 minutes. The manager stated yes she told me but I was busy doing other things, what can I help you with? I cannot believe her attitude when she was speaking with me. It was as though she hated everything about that job. She was not friendly she had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. I told her that my food came out cold and my eggs were not cooked as requested and my bacon was hardly cooked at all, it was nearly raw. I also explained to her that my daughter's pancakes were cold but due to her having a meltdown I allowed her to begin eating them. Anyone who knows about cracker barrel or as ever had a meal there knows that they always bring warm syrup out. I told her that it was not warm and I would like to have it warmed. The manager decided to take my meal back. When she brought the mail back out, I was shocked that the pancakes still were not hot. The butter did not melt, but I was not going to have it sent back again. I already felt uneasy because I could not see who was handling my food back there in the kitchen. As I began to eat my meal, it was not appetizing at all. Just as I went to take another bite of the dry and cold pancakes I noticed there was a piece of hair in my food. This was after I cut into the pancake so it was cooked in the batter. At that moment I felt as though she did something to my food. I told her of the incident and she told me that she would take care of the bill but her attitude about it was absolutely terrible. As though I did something to her. It's no wonder her wait staff operated the way it did, her leadership was unprofessional and unbecoming. Cracker barrel does not have an abundance of restaurants in the area. It's a shame that I have to make a decision not to support and bring my business to this cracker barrel that is within close proximity of my home because I can't count on quality food and excellent customer service. I am highly...
Read moreI wish I could give negative stars. Online it said there was a 5 minute wait. I get there they say it's 30 minutes. I get on the list anyway and lo and behold my table is ready in 5 minutes. It got worse from there. There were 3 of us. One got fish, one got chicken tenders with grits with cheese, and pancakes. I got chicken and dumplings with 3 sides. Food comes out. Appetizer and biscuits come out with food which was disappointing but we could live with it. My food was missing a side. The chicken tenders were chicken and dumplings not tenders, the grits had no cheese. She takes them back says she will get the meal fixed. We ask for syrup so he could at least have the pancakes while he waits. We also ask for tartar sauce for the fish. After 5 minutes of waiting we asked again. After 5 more minutes we asked the host for the manager. At that point she brings hot sauce for the fish, not tartar and the syrup. At this point the food is cold and one of us still have no entree. The manager comes to the table and we start to explain. She tells us we can't blame the server for the kitchen. (We weren't) manager never apologizes or tries to help the situation. We tell her the waitress and honestly most of the staff spent a great deal of our visit huddled at the kitchen entrance and the cook has nothing to do with the missing syrup or tartar sauce. Again she blames the kitchen. After realizing we weren't going to get anywhere we tell the manager to go away as we all have anxiety disorders and one was starting to have an anxiety attack due to the attention the manager was bringing to the table and we are told to leave. The mistakes are one thing, they happen but the fact no one was willing to do even the simple things and the manager was blaming the kitchen even for the things the server could easily correct but didn't was another. A simple apology and promise to help get things resolved would have been all we needed but instead we were embarrassed by being told to leave a restaurant we go to weekly. I will never go to this location again and strongly advise everyone to go to another location or one of the several other restaurants...
