Me and my family visited this location on May 26, 2019. I did call ahead seating for a party of 12 and was told by the hostess that she had to get approval from the manager if it was ok to seat this many people. Hostess came back to the phone and informed me that basically we would be accommodated. Hostess asked what time we would be there and I informed the hostess that we would be there at 5 oโclock. The hostess said ok we will see you then. Mind you I called about 345 pm. Fast forward we get to the restaurant at about 445 pm. I check in for my party and the hostess stated that we will be seated shortly, which is understandable because we did arrive a little bit early. So I expected to to wait about 10-15 minutes, which was fine. So as we are waiting, more people are coming to the restaurant and being seated ahead of us because their party was a lot smaller. So fast forward to an hour later my dad went up to the hostess to see how much longer and he explained the situation to the hostess and the hostess stated to him that they was cleaning and setting up the table and to give them another 5 minutes. 5 minutes came and went, so my cousin decided to approach another hostess and she in return tells her that they had a party of 14 walk in right before we called. So at this time we are getting super upset, because that information should have been relayed to us up front. Iโm really trying to keep my composure for (1) I didnโt want to act up and cause a scene in front of my daughter and my nephews, it was SUPER hard keeping my composure but I had to. I was steaming on the inside but I do not have a poker face. So Iโm pretty sure my face showed my frustrations; (2) I didnโt want them doing nothing funny to our food. So finally after all of that, we are finally seated. The waiter that was assigned to our table was very prompt. He took our drinks, appetizers, and Entreeโs promptly. Honestly I was just going to order our food and not leave a tip. But, I had to think about it because itโs not his fault at what happened at the beginning of our visit. So I felt he should not have to pay for the hostessโ lax in communication. This will be the LAST AND I MEAN THE ABSOLUTE LAST TIME I visit this restaurant. I wish I hadโve Followed my first mind and stuck with Texas Roadhouse because they have BETTER FOOD, MORE FRIENDLIER and when I call for call ahead seating with Texas Roadhouse and if something goes awry, they keep us informed and not wait until over an hour to give an update. I know how to take my money and my group of family members and go to an restaurant where we are treated with respect. So word to the wise if you ever do call ahead seating at Loganโs please bring snacks and something to drink with you or you will be waiting 9 years to be seated. Whomever the manager is of this establishment is, they need to do some serious retraining on communication with guests or have a professional development day like some of the schools do. Iโm in the medical field and I work with people every day and no matter how busy we get I always make sure that I give updates and communicate with my patients. Itโs little things like communication that people appreciate and it was not extended at this...
ย ย ย Read moreFor better or for worse, Logan's is improving. I say for better or for worse, because it's Logan's Roadhouse. When I first started going here years ago, it really resembled a roadhouse more than it does now. There was loud country music, peanuts at the tables, and shells on the floor. There was even a Jukebox. The grill was on display, and skirt steaks were on the menu. It was a very casual and relaxed atmosphere. The waitresses dressed in a bit of a relaxed, almost inviting style, and even the murals on the wall were representative of a rough and tumble Roadhouse of the past. All in all, not that politically correct for today's day and age, and maybe even for its locale, but you knew where you were, and what you were entering. Today when you visit, often times, people will greet you at the door, and even hold it open for you. There are no more peanuts nor peanut shells, the grill is closed off, and things seem cleaner. The hostess and wait staff are still very friendly and inviting, though the apparel is not as "relaxed", shall we say. The raunchy murals are gone, and the number of TVs, flaunting sports, have increased. Even the menu items have changed a bit. Yes, higher prices, as everywhere else, but also the menu items themselves, seem to be more upscale, if you will. Whether you agree with the change or not, it is a sign of the changing times, and hopefully for Logan's, will increase their clientele. I really loved the old style, but welcome their new ideas as well. My wife ordered a medium rare filet. It was hot, tasty, and medium rare. Not all the factors were always prevalent before. I had a steak and shrimp combo. This was also cooked perfectly, served hot, and very tasty. Our waitress, I apologize for forgetting her name, was a delight. She was training a new girl, and hopefully her cheerful, exuberant attitude was ensconced into the rookie. You need more wait staff like that. It not only breeds smiles and happiness amongst the patrons, but keeps them wanting to come back, because they're treated so nicely. You don't have to give away the farm to get people to return, just "be nice!" What's more, this kind of attitude inspires larger tips. And they got one... And NOT because they tried to include it on the bill, nor because they suggested a preferred amount, but because they were friendly, responsive, and all around good servers. Grant it, not every tipper thinks and reacts as I, but you can't get silk from a sow's ear, no matter what you do, so why not just, "Be Nice." Is it a mere coincidence that I'm reviewing a Roadhouse, and repeating a line from another, "Roadhouse?" No, but it is the truth. Hats off to Logan's on 13/Gratiot, today. They've turned it up a notch, and it shows. Their menu has many great options, as does their bar. Their atmosphere is clean, well lit, and comfortable, and their wait staff was great. I suggest you give it a try. If you've tried it in the past, then give it a...
ย ย ย Read moreI'll start by saying this will be a LONG review. This is by far the WORST experience I've EVER had at a Logan's location. This is the 13 & Gratiot location. This is the experience we had: I called this Logans at 4:44 P.M. to reserve a table for a party of 10 at 6 P.M. for my father in law's 82nd birthday dinner. The person I spoke to assured me that my party would b able to be seated. My husband & I arrived at 10 minutes to 6 & when we went in the people at the host stand had NO CLUE about our party of 10 for 6 P.M. We went on a WAIT LIST! My husband & I went to the bar-if you can call it that-& TRIED to order a drink. There's no liquor to speak of for mixed drinks. As for the beer choices-FORGET IT! If you don't drink Budweiser or Miller Genuine Draft there are a few limited other options but nothing great. HEY LOGAN'S: HOW ABOUT MOLSON OR LABATTS at the "bar"! We were FINALLY seated after waiting 1/2 an hour & I went to the host station to request we be seated quickly as the birthday person isn't the most patient these days. We did take our time before we ordered because we were waiting for two missing people in our party. After waiting an hour for them we decided to order without them. When our food did arrive it was sub par. If the steak that was supposed to be 22 oz. was an actual 22 oz. I'd be surprised! It was bone & grizzle. Not quality at all. I ordered a side of mac & cheese that was just ok. It cost $3.50 & was WAY more cost than I'll EVER pay again! The picture below is the portion that cost $3.50! The rest of the meals the people in our party ordered weren't as quality as they would've hoped either. It took almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive to our table. The meals ended, we waited 1/2 an hour to receive our food bills. The manager had to help the server get them together. Everything seemed to take an extraordinarily long time. From being seated to our food arriving at our table to getting our checks. We've been to other Logan's locations that were far superior to the 13 & Gratiot location. This is one Logan's location we'll NOT return to. WORST Logan's experience...
