I recently had the opportunity to try a truly unique culinary creation - lobster sushi served on a Pringle chip. The moment I laid eyes on this unconventional dish, I was both intrigued and skeptical. However, after taking my first bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the delightful flavors that unfolded.
The combination of the succulent lobster and the crunchy Pringle chip created a remarkable textural contrast that elevated the sushi experience to a whole new level. The Pringle chip acted as a crispy base, providing a satisfying crunch with each bite. It also served as an unexpected flavor enhancer, with its subtle saltiness complementing the sweet and delicate taste of the lobster.
The sushi itself was expertly crafted, showcasing the culinary skills of the chef. The lobster was incredibly fresh, tender, and full of flavor. Its richness blended harmoniously with the accompanying sushi rice, which was perfectly seasoned. The addition of a touch of wasabi and soy sauce further elevated the overall taste, adding a subtle kick without overpowering the delicate flavors of the lobster.
While the concept of serving sushi on a Pringle chip might raise eyebrows, it is a testament to the creativity and innovation of the culinary world. This unconventional twist offers a unique dining experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression. For sushi enthusiasts and adventurous foodies, this lobster sushi on a Pringle chip is a must-try fusion delight that pushes the boundaries of...
Read moreWith the caveat that I'm a lunch-goer most of the time, and tend to live off of bento boxes, I can describe my experience like this: The portions are large, and the service s-l-o-w. I've lunched at numerous places in the area, and have never exceeded the 30-40 minutes I have available in a restaurant. Here, it took me at least five minutes just to be seated, despite there only being four other tables occupied. Then, it took forever to take my order - and I was ready to order before the server even came around to see if I wanted anything to drink. I can't fault that the tonkatsu took a bit, but getting my bowl of miso took a while too.
In summary, I had close to 40 minutes to eat lunch here, but by the time I actually got food, I didn't have time to enjoy it. I would have understood if there had been more than four tables occupied, but as is, that's just not okay.
Food-wise, the miso soup seemed like it came from the bottom of the pot. The katsu would have been acceptable - it was certainly large and cooked okay - had it actually come with katsu sauce. An artistic drizzle is great, but means most of the time I was eating fried pork with nothing on it.
But, I guess that that should be expected from a place that has "half-off sushi rolls" permanently in the window, without anything saying anything like that it's just for lunch. In retrospect, perhaps I should be glad that I...
Read moreWhat do you think of when you read "bibimbap"? If you think of seasoned meat/tofu, blanched and salted veggies, and hot rice, we have the same thought. I expected some kind of version of that, but sadly I was presented with a bowl of bland tofu crumble, raw and cold shredded salad ingredients (raw and shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, carrots, and whole spinach leaves) and plain rice. Pros? The rice was warm and the veggies looked fresh, also it was colorful. It came with the usual gochujang sauce, but sadly it was so mild in both heat and flavor that I had to ask for another sauce. I got teriyaki, which also tasted bland and it was kind of... gelatinous? Not-properly-emulsified, I guess. I can only liken it to a non-dressed, dry side salad (yes, the side salad you get with a bento box) in a huge bowl with rice and tofu bits. It was such a dry, bland, sad meal with odd-flavored miso soup. The server was nice but seemed so shy. He never made eye contact and spoke quietly. He was staring at the TV and talking with his coworkers much of the time while we needed some attention, but honestly it wasn't too bad. This was the second chance we gave this restaurant. We also didn't like our food much the first time....
