Read moreI'm shocked this place has a license and any business at all. A friend and I went here pre-covid for drinks, the bar tender at that time was grumpy and did not seem like he wanted to be there, kind of ruins the mood when you're out trying to have a good time. I gave this place another try this weekend, my mom heard the burgers were really good. I was willing to give it a second chance, unfortunately, this place is not looking for busy, again realized how unwelcoming and unfriendly this establishment is, it must be there thing. I understand this is a pub, but if you sale food, expect people to come just for the food. When I asked for an ice tea, the guy doing the register (taking peoples credi cards and money) is also preparing drinks. He used a spout to pour the ice tea, all I could see was water and very little tea going into the clear cup. He squeezed a lemon in my glass, that I did not ask for and placed it on the counter. I was surprised he didn't notice how clear the ice tea was (I think it was more like he didn't care). I held the class up and kindly asked for a replacement, he was bothered, he snapped at someone to go change it out. My sister had already went to the patio to secure a table, with the soda she ordered. The tables were dirty and needed to be wiped down, my sisters soda was flat and had no syrup. I was going to grab napkins and condiments from the self serve counter. Had no plans to ask for the tables to be wiped down, did not want to deal with the wrath of the guys attitude. My sister asked if I would get her a new drink, she was okay with anything, although she wanted a Coke. I hesitantly asked the same guy at the register for Pepsi, Dr Pepper anything else that had carbonation. He was extremely irritated, he told me the carbonation was switched already this morning, he pushed his way past a peer, as I noticed how bothered he was, I definatley did not want to eat there. I told him to cancel my order. I've never felt so uncomforable, I walked out to my family on the patio and told them I can't eat here. Sorry two strikes you're out! There will not be a third time for me. If that's how they serve drinks and treat folks, who knows how they handle the food in the back. Not worth the risk during these times! We all went around the corner to El Azteca Taqueria on Foothills Blvd, now this place is highly recommend, Great food and a welcoming...
Read moreAbsolutely LOVED everything about The Boxing Donkey! Just entering the front door puts you right in the middle of the pub area. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old, authentic, Irish pub which envelopes you completely! Chalkboards filled with ales, beers, and all kinds of liquid yummies! An old, beautiful wood floor. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They directed us tward the end of the bar, where we could order drinks and food. After we made our drink choices we opted for indoor seating, and made our way to the dining room. I can't begin to explain how much I enjoyed our area, walls covered in personal photos, funny ale and Irish whiskey advertisements, even pictures of someone's dog. We sat at a table for four, got settled in, ordered our food, and my son brought us water and silverware. We talked and waited for our food. I ordered the corned beef Reuben, which comes with fries and Donkey sauce. My whole meal was absolutely spectacular, I just wanted to shove everything in my mouth all at once!! Amazing food, we all loved what we ordered, my daughters whiskey barbeque bacon cheeseburger was absolutely addicting, especially with their homemade barbeque sauce, and donkey sauce for her fries. My son had a fantastic buffalo chicken mac and cheese that looked, smelled, and he said tasted scrumptious. We all had an almost magical moment we didn't want to end. We were able to eat our fill, and still bring home some leftovers to enjoy the next day. All I can really say is that I haven't had food that good in a really long time. You gotta try it for yourself! Prices are a bit steep, but well worth it! I can barely wait to go back again!! My new favorite...
