I went to this Wendy's on 10-14-2016.
We order and paid for our order (1 meal plus 2 sides) there were 2 other customers already seated and eating... The employees didn't process our order. After some time, we asked for our food, we had to wait an additional 10 minutes. Employees were standing around talking and joking. When our order was finally ready, the french fries were completely cold and tasted as if they were cooked a while ago, the cheese on the fries was not melted at all - pretty gross. It took just under 20 minutes to receive our meal.
After we received our meal, a man came in, no one else was in line. The employees continued to joke with each other and completely ignored the customer. He stood there politely, after a few minutes he asked if he could be helped. One of the employees smarted back to him and other employees laughed. He turned around and left saying that he will never come back. An employee that said she was the Manager - Jennifer; said very sarcastically, "Well no one ever asked you to come back". Employees standing around her laughed. I was sitting at a table at the farthest end of the restaurant and I could hear what happened very clearly.
Being a customer care coach for over 15 years, Jennifer's attitude and comment, the employees around her laughing at the gentleman was over the top. I went up to the counter and asked to speak to the Manager - Jennifer confirmed that she was the Manager. I asked for the owners contact information. She said in an inappropriate tone, "Look at your receipt and call the number that's on it if you want the number". I said - thanks - but I would rather that you just write it down for me and note the owners name please. She said the owner's name was Jennifer as well... She said, "What's your problem"? l explained my experience as well as the manner the gentleman was treated was unacceptable. She said, "I'm sick of this place", I told her after watching and listening to her, it seemed like it and I said that this job may not be a good fit for her. She said, "I know - that's what I was thinking". Jennifer started laughing. It's good to note that I called the number I received several times and it's clear that Jennifer gave me a fax phone number.
As I was walking away, a tall white male said to Jennifer, "Was that just more BS?" Jennifer replied, "Yea". I turned around and asked the young man - "Excuse me sir, did you just ask if my concern was just more BS?" He replied, "I didn't say that, you misheard me". Other employees were wide eyed, some looked concern, some nervous - some looked like they were not phased and I got the impression that they were use to this type of 'leadership'...
The entire time I kept thinking there's an owner that is most likely wondering why the restaurant was not doing well. While I'm aware that everything flows from the top down, in upper managements absence, the poor employee behavior is turning away clients, losing revenue, ultimately hurting livelihoods. For this reason, I decided to write this review in the hopes that employees can be...
Read moreI can't believe I'm writing a fast food review but here we are. The drive thru at dinner is busy for most all places, that wasn't a concern as we were deciding what to eat. It should've been. We pulled in behind two cars and ordered just two of their $5 deals. The oy change was no cheese on one. We pulled up and waited over 20 minutes just to get up and pay. Employees were apologetic. Ok, what canwe do about that anyway. At least we're getting our food finall and not too late to our destination. Once we received our food though I wish we had picked anywhere else. The entire order was cold which was great for the sodas but definitely not the burger or anything else. The fries were cold and had so much salt I could assume it was the bottom of the pile and cycled over and over. The simple change of no cheese on the burger wasn't followed which was ok since the cheese couldn't melt on a cold sandwich. Before grabbing the bag from a second apologetic employee (sorry, everything is going slow tonight with an awkward smile) we asked to confirm the no cheese. A nod.
We will never be returning. Not just to this franchise but...
Read moreThe widespread power outage turned a simple meal search into a frustrating ordeal, reminiscent of a scene straight out of "Idiocracy." Visiting three different Wendy's locations, starting in Citrus Heights, Antelope, and then moving to Sunrise and Greenback, highlighted a sad state of affairs. While I grasp the challenge businesses face during outages, the rush to reopen without full operational capacity was disheartening. It felt as though the priority was to start raking in customer cash, regardless of the ability to provide proper service. This approach left me, and likely many others, in a bind, fumbling through transactions in an unexpectedly primitive setup. The experience underscored a concerning trend toward a "Carl's Jr"-type future (another Idiocracy reference), where the essence of customer service is lost in the chaos. Rather than hastily reopening to collect payments, businesses should consider the long-term impact on customer trust and...
