We recently had perhaps the worst Applebee's experience ever at this location. When we arrived, it was busy; understandable given that it was a Saturday night. The host took our name down, but we had to specifically /ask/ how long the wait was after he took our name. He didn't offer the information otherwise. When we were finally seated, the host just dumped our menus on the table, turned around, and left, almost bowling my partner over in his haste to get back to the host station at the door. My partner was on a cane, still coming up the stairs, and was almost knocked to the ground by the host. There was no "Your server will be right with you" or anything. From there, things got, well, worse.
It took 10 minutes from us being seated to actually see our server for the first time, and we didn't get his name until we received our check at the end of our dining experience. Due to the long wait, we placed our order with our drinks. Drinks came out quickly, food came out about 20 minutes later. We had to remind the waiter about the appetizer that we were missing. The waiter never bothered to check in on us throughout our entire visit. Drinks sat empty, even when we requested refills. Another table was seated behind us, then decided to leave without ordering, and we overheard our waiter say "Good, I didn't want to serve them anyway" to another customer.
As we were leaving, the host was coming to seat another table in the same area that we were in. Again, he almost knocked my partner to the ground. He did knock into me, and he knocked my partner's cane from where it hung on the table.
Based on this experience alone, and the fact that I've not been able to get a response from Applebee's guest relations regarding the experience, we will not be returning to...
Read moreI was just at AppleBees on Mcknight road, and me and my group were in a slight rush but still plenty of time for a quick lunch especially considering it was not very busy. Our server Maria only had three other tables when we sat and I heard one table asking for the manager as well as the other tables food was brought out wrong by our sever. We hoped she wouldn’t make the same mistakes with us but of course she did. It took over 45mins- hour for our food to even come out and at this point she only had one other table as well as the rest of the restaurant being slow. Then she rung in the wrong food for me mistaking the cheddar bacon crispy chicken sandwich and giving me the bacon ranch chicken sandwich. She took it back and brought it back after 12 minutes, and it was the exact same price of chicken with a half melted slice of cheese added. Since we were in a rush we asked for boxes and just wanted to leave. I then take a bite of it in the car and it STILL HAD RANCH ON THE BOTTOM. This wasn’t even corrected they just added a piece of cheese of top and it took 12 mins to come back out. Completely unsatisfied, I myself am a server was just in disbelief. She also never spend more than a minute at the table so we were unable to tell her that our drinks were not right we assumed the syrup was low but by the time she came back to our table it was finally to order and she left again before we got the chance to tell her. Overall terrible experience. Maria you should ask to...
Read moreAfter waiting 10 minutes for a hostess, my husband and I seated ourselves. Restaurant was not busy - and seated ourselves in an area where there was a waiter. No sign telling us Hostess on Duty. Waiter acknowledged us when we sat down - we were all good..... Then a man (not a manager) brought us our silverware and reprimanded us for seating ourselves. Told us 'just so you know next time you need to be seated by a hostess'. Told him we waited and no one came to seat us -nor was there any type of signage. He kept arguing with us so we would know for the 'next time'. Um... there will be no 'next time. Suggested signage would be a great place to start especially if short handed so guest know what to do. An even better way would have been a conversation something like - "we apologize there was not a hostess when you arrived and hope you are okay with the booth you selected'.....Needless to say, we exited- drove to Chili's and were treated quite differently. (And they had a hostess on-duty and a sign so we knew what to do - lol).... Since Covid, we go out of our way to leave a 50 percent tip to support workers in this industry - so unfortunately the nice waiter lost out due to a rude staff member that thought it was okay to address us in that manner. It is not okay. Spoke with a manager today by phone and she knew exactly who I was referring to and apologized. Agreed behavior was unacceptable. Keeping an employee like that is not...
