I'm not sure where to begin. The place seemed pretty good at first we did not have to wait very long for a table and our server, Monica, came up to us to get our drinks down. She then brought us our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We needed a bit more time to order and she then disappeared for a long time, maybe 15-20 minutes, before coming back to our table. After she took our simple order: An omlette, chicken fingers, and 2 French toasts one apple and one regular then the ENTIRE experience went downhill. She never and I mean not ONE time came to our table to ask if we were okay, needed refills, or communicate what was happening in the back of house. It took about at least 1 HOUR from the time we ordered to the time we got out food. After about 30 or so minutes the manager went around explaining what was going on which was some staffing issue but wasn't a problem until 40 minutes before they were set to close? The guy, gray shirt and gray hair, was not even going to come to our table until I called him over to ask what was happening, unreal! Also, shouldn't the server tell us that while she was taking or order or come back and tell us? She never did not one time there was no communication from Monica. Eventually after we get our food and guess what? They couldn't even give us our full order after an hour of waiting. We never got the apple French toasts and the omlette was drastically overcooked and dry. This is coming from a place who is supposed to specialize in egg dishes by the way. We never got any refills on drinks at any point too may I add. Lastly, the Chef correctly came out and had to start apologizing to customers for horrible service and food and of course NEVER came to our table to say anything. Terrible experience and the only redeeming quality was that we got 50% off and 2 free entrée gift cards, 1 for each person. I cannot say I will be back to that location anytime soon though. Truly bad brunch experience and my guest and I were not satisfied at all on...
Read moreI had such an exceptional dining experience at Broken Egg Cafe that I could not wait to leave the restaurant before writing my review. I was honored to have Annie as my server and its not only because she will be studying Astrophysics in school (girl power) but also because her service was thoughtful, professional, and informative. I enjoyed the seasonal 'lemon custard stuffed french toast - w/strawberries, almonds, and caramel, City grits w/Gouda, bacon, onion etc., and eggs scrambled with blended cheese. The french toast was soo good, I didn't need syrup! That combination of citrus and light sweetness is a slam dunk! The grits were creamy and have 'no grit'!Talk about getting it right! Kudos to the Chef! I appreciated the fact that Matt stopped by to make sure my experience was great. The GM Jason was also kind and quite passionate about providing the best experience for the customers and the team he hires. They keep coming back to work there because of the leadership - you and I know that. You can tell that the love for this place was evident and the culture reflected that care. It honestly felt as though I was a guest in someone's home, more than a customer in a restaurant. This is exactly why I will be back and I cannot get the french toast out of my head!!! I drank the French roast cold brew with vanilla and every flavor of my meal worked extremely well together. The french toast will be ending on Sunday so I hope you read this review before Sun. Aug.8th 2021 or catch the next season! Don't let the simple presentation fool you, this meal packs a mean punch and I am fighting back a good nap! Life is not promised to always be great but if we could just choose kindness, the world will eventually catch on! Thanks to the Broken Egg Cafe for redeeming my morning with a great experience in dining and service. Don't miss this experience you guys! See...
Read moreFood and service were great per usual. I love their coffee (although I think they've changed it since I was there about 6 weeks ago). I highly recommend their beignets and eggs Benedict. I love the crab! I would agree with others that this is a little pricey, but I do like the portion sizes.
But please for goodness sake train the hostesses better. I came in to meet a couple friends, thinking I was the first one in, and put my name on the list. I watched quite a few people get frustrated with the hostesses and the hostesses then complaining (that part doesn't bother me). I was really surprised how people were reacting to having to wait as this is always a happening spot for Sunday brunch. That is however until the hostess gave another person with the same name my table. I had 3 in my party she had 5. There were only 4 groups waiting and I was the first on the list. The hostess told her my table was ready. Confirmed by saying Sara? Then took her to a table set for 4 carrying 3 menus. It never dawned on her that something might be wrong that she didn't grab enough menus or that she'd sat them at a table that wasn't meant for 5 people. I thought for sure I was assuming, but then made a comment to the other hostess how it didn't make sense. I'm literally two feet from her on the right side of the door and she has already forgotten about me. I lost 20 minutes due to this completely avoidable fiasco. Can't imagine how many people were experiencing mix-ups causing them irritation.
Lucky for me, my friends had beat me in by a few minutes and we're out of my sight with a table already.
I get it. You're busy. But there's a lot of other ABEC locations and awesome brunch spots near here. You've gotta be top notch to keep people returning. We won't be back here, but the food and service otherwise doesn't warrant...
