Start with the beginning, waiting twenty mins for a good steak, I would do every day all day but waiting and listening to how rude the hosts were to guests coming in wasn’t the best first impression. Also a girl coming in looking for a position with the company, the manager, if you’d like to call him that was rude to her, she seemed super nervous. Nothing inviting about the place. I’ll say, This place has an amazing salad bar and soup was decent. Do not order a steak they don’t know a good steak. My 8oz Baron was horrible, not cooked at Medium Rare it was burnt and raw, no seasoning. Tasted like you pulled it out of the freezer and did no prep. The Ribeye my husband ordered was also horrible, raw and no real taste. I know a ribeye has fat but can we get a steak please. My daughters ribs were bleeding no go on pork for us, after waiting forever for the next best it was drier than jerky. Wasted a good 80 bucks and two hours we’ll never get back. There was no real customer service or concern to the issue. (TMI update but not even thirty mins later we’re sick.. not good, people stay away) The server Natasha was on it, great help to her ability and super nervous that the food wasn’t good at all. I felt bad for her but more so for our stomach we wasted two hours and a eighty bucks. The banana pudding is a joke my grandson at age 4 could’ve would’ve done a better job hands down. The bread was horrible, unless you’re into eating rocks. We will never be back, hope this helps anyone else that hasn’t been here before. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, ( OR YOUR GUT).. sad to say we were looking forward to it

Update: we did send a review to the leadership team as requested below by the owner. Hopefully some changes can be made and a better experience in the future. Parking lot was packed so we thought, hey why not stop and check it out. We walked in and had a small wait to be seated (about 5 minutes). Once we sat down, our waitress greeted us shortly thereafter. We ordered some drinks and she asked if we wanted bread, said yes. The margaritas took about 10 minutes to get, the bread about 5 minutes after that. Margaritas were tasty, but very overpriced for what we got...they were $13.50 each. Bread with butter was fresh and warm. We ordered the all American burger with fries and the grilled turkey jack with sweet potato fries. The food was average, nothing to write home about and the bread on the grilled turkey sandwich was soggy. Our waitress didn't check on us much, never refilled our water and drinks took way too long to get. Bathroom was semi clean, one of the stalls in the ladies room had a latch that was broken and unable to close. Overall, we feel this place could have improved by attentiveness on the small things, food checked to make sure it's cooked correctly and waitress more attentive. We think this will be low on our list of coming back to in the future.

Terrific food, atmosphere, service. Everything about this place was wonderful. Perfectly cooked steaks, biggest variety of salad bar I have ever seen and everything I tried was wonderful. Steak was perfectly cooked. The sweet potato with honey butter was absolutely delicious. My wife had the London broil I had the Ribeye. Served with hot from the oven fresh bread. Now had I known what a fabulous salad bar they had I would have just had the salad bar. But I am glad I tasted the beef so flavorful and tender. Four of us all completely satisfied. The ice tea was freshly brewed the beer was ice cold and the food was fantastic. Can't say enough. The staff here was relaxed but very attentive. ADA compliant entry, seating, and bathrooms. Clean and very we'll decorated atmosphere. Quite enough to enjoy conversation and room enough to not feel crowded. In Roswell you really need to try this place. Our meal for four was $83.00 but two of us ordered steak and beer. So about 20.00 per person. They do have burgers too and meals for kids.

As a New Mexican who enjoys hearty meals and local flavors, visiting Cattle Baron in Roswell, NM, was a delightful experience. Known for its quality steaks and welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant truly delivers a satisfying dining experience.

Ambiance: Cattle Baron offers a warm and rustic ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The décor features classic Western elements, with wooden furnishings and subtle cowboy-themed accents. The atmosphere is both cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a family dinner or a gathering with friends.

Food: The menu at Cattle Baron is a carnivore’s dream, offering a wide variety of steaks and other hearty dishes. I started with the salad bar, which is one of the best in town, featuring fresh ingredients and a great selection of toppings. For my main course, I opted for the ribeye steak, cooked to perfection with a perfect balance of seasoning and juiciness. The steak was tender and flavorful, truly a highlight of the meal.

In addition to steaks, Cattle Baron offers seafood and chicken dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The baked potato and steamed vegetables that accompanied my steak were well-prepared and complemented the main dish nicely.

Service: The service at Cattle Baron was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The prompt and courteous service added to the overall positive experience.

Overall Experience: Cattle Baron in Roswell provides a top-notch dining experience with its quality food, inviting atmosphere, and excellent service. It’s a great place to enjoy a hearty meal, whether you’re a local or just passing through. The combination of delicious steaks and a welcoming environment makes it a must-visit restaurant in Roswell.

Rating: 4.5/5

I went to eat here for the first time. I was sat by a very friendly hostess and it is a nice clean place. My waitress came up no smile, told me her name, asked what I would like to drink and if I wanted an appetizer, to which I responded I have never been here before and told her I needed a minute to see the menu, she looked annoyed by what i said and she went to go get me my dr pepper. When she returned I asked what she thought of an appetizer and she responded the stuffed shrimp were good. So I ordered those. I also asked if they had medium rare prime rib and she said she would go check. She came back and said they did so I ordered one with the salad bar and mash potatoes. My appetizer arrived shortly after while I was still eating my simple salad and about 5 minutes after my appetizer showed up someone from the kitchen brought me my prime rib. The appetizer was over cooked the prime rib was rare not medium rare the mash potatoes were cold and covered in green onions. Immediately after I pushed my plate forward from finishing my steak she had my tab in hand and asked if I had room for dessert. I ordered the cheese cake with strawberries and she brought it within 3 minutes of ordering it with my updated tab in hand and she told me she would be my cashier when I was ready. All in all the food wasn't worth the price. The bread they set at the table was so hard I had trouble using the steak knife they gave me to cut a peice off. I did not feel welcomed at all and felt like the waitress just wanted me to leave as soon as possible. She looked like she didn't want to be there and only was "happy" or smiled while she was talking to the other employees. This "restaurant" felt more like a fast food place because of the way I felt rushed and how fast the food came. Between the customer service and the quality of the food I give it 2 stars, I would not recommend...
