This place has plummeted. It really is bad, won’t be back. Service was good, the waitress we had was on her first day.
The restaurant was at most at 1/3 it’s capacity on peak time on Friday night. That should tell the management a lot in regards to major changes needed if they want to keep the doors open.
We ordered our food and drinks. The cheese dip was 8.50 and the waitress asked if that was with jalapeños or not. Typically that question is asked so they can be left out, as it comes with jalapeños. We said yes with jalapeños. When we got the bill we were charged 8.50 for the small bowl and a surcharge of $1.50 for jalapeños. We mentioned it to waitress and she too was shocked at the charge and was going to ask manager about it, but basically returned with our original bill.
We also ordered carne asada tacos and she asked how we wanted our steak. We told her medium rare. The steak came out charred and more than well done. It was crispier than most bacon.
We ordered margaritas the skinny and another margarita that was suppose to be fresh. Both were flat and tasted like bad water and plain. The waitress brought some agave syrup in an attempt to help…. It did not and for $12 bucks for a 12 oz, drink should be great.
We have been here a few times, the first couple of times were decent. The last time we came here was post Covid and it was a bit sketchy as the bartender was repeatedly kissing and touching on a waitress while both were serving customers; and clients were allowing their teenage children to walk all around all the tables. We mentioned to the waitress at the time, telling her we did not want people walking around our table while we are trying to eat and maintain social distancing. But she could not get them to stop and apparently no management was present or would do anything about it.
Last nights visit was the ‘final nail in the coffin’ for us we...
Read moreI am amending my previous review. Maybe my first visit was a one off. I say this because the food on this visit was awful. No flavor in the beans or carnitas. Between the three of us, everyone had issues with the food. All around, not a good experience.
Initial visit: I really appreciate good service. The waiters here were super on point. Quick and attentive define my takeaway.
The drinks were good and quite tasty. The jalapeño margarita was really good. The ice cold Pacifico draft hit the spot.
Chips and salsa are simple accouterments that get the party started. While I had read other reviews that dinged them, I found no issues. The chips were fresh and crispy. The salsa was a bit different. A little more of a Ranchero style without too much heat. I liked them.
There are a couple food items I always use as a barometer at Mexican restaurants I am visiting for the first time. In this case, I opted for carnitas tacos. How well pork gets roasted can tell you a lot about a place. At Hola, the carnitas were a smidge dry. The flavor was good, a bit muted due to the dryness, but ok. They were fresh, though. I paired the tacos with a nice little bowl of charro beans. Pretty yummy.
My friend had a chimichanga. Not my thing, but they are on a quest to find the best chimi in the Atlanta area. After giving a taste, I would qualify it as a fajita chimichanga. Drizzled with cheese and sprinkled with queso fresco, lettuce and radish, it was damn good.
Overall, I am on the fence with this place, especially being out in Roswell. I will return and try a...
Read moreMy gf and I stopped for some luch a few days ago here. We were on a 2-person mission for Birria Tacos. We ordered a texas margarita and a peach mint margarita as well. Listen... I'm a large man who loves his tequila. I felt more off that one taxas marg than I think I ever have at a Mexican restaurant in my life. So that was a big plus for me. It was flavorful, strong, with just the right amount of sours. I did not feel like my drink came from a jug. If it did, yall did a great job hiding it. As for the birria Tacos, those were great! I did have one of the 3 that was a little short on the meat, cilantro, and onion. But it was the last one I ate so I wasn't going to complain since I was full. But it was definitely only filled about 1/3 of the other ones we ate. The dip for the tacos was delicious as well! Everything tasted great!
Our waitress was nice. Came around enough to be attentive, but not smothering.
The environment itself was clean and comfortable. Music was a decent level, which I always appreciate because when I'm out to eat, I enjoy conversation rather than sitting on my phone. I'm also hard of hearing, so overly loud music makes it hard for me to enjoy myself.
For 2 meals and 2 drinks, we were in it about $60 bucks before tip. So it was a little pricey. But considering the area we're in, it wasn't unexpected. Honestly with as good as my drink was, I'm not going to complain!
If I'm ever in the area again, I will not hesitate...
