I was excited to see that a Greek place opened up at this location, as there have been series of failed restaurants here and I love Greek food (being half Greek). I stopped by for a late lunch one afternoon and was not quite so excited by the time I left. The decor is wonderful, the place is clean and fresh and definitely gives off a Greek vibe, which I love. The Greek music made me nostalgic and had me reminiscing about my Greek grandparents. I ordered the Zeus Gyros, which is made using the pressed lamb and beef and shaved from a spit, and is the dish I use to measure the standard of any Greek restaurant I eat at. The dish was seasoned well and was very tasty, but the meat itself was disappointingly dry. The tzatziki sauce was delicious, but I should have asked for extra, as I can never really have enough of it, and it might have helped perk up the dry state of the meat. I loved their pita bread - it was soft and incredibly delicious. The rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty as well. Overall, it was not a bad gyros, but it was not a great one either. In my opinion, the meat is the star of a gyros and this one was definitely not shining as brightly as it should have been. But it was not so bad that I won't give Zeus at least one more chance. For now, it's just an "ok"...
Read moreReally like the decor of this place with its Santorini-esque vibe. The color palette is bright white and blue accents, kind of making you feel like you're at the seaside. The tables are a little cramped, but you'll make do.
As far as food goes, I wouldn't say I'm super enthused about this place. It took a minute to get my food, but when I started eating it, it was not anywhere near off-the-grill temperature. The corn was kind of flat, bland. I wouldn't get it again. Looked great in presentation, though. The Zeus gyro was pretty decent. That's what I'm basing the stars on. Otherwise, it's really just a bit above average for me. I'm not planning to go back, but it's worth a try. Your experience might be way different than mine.
The service was prompt and efficient but nothing really more than that, though their tipping selection starts at 18% anyway. I was a bit thrown off when I drove up, to see a drive-thru in this joint, to be honest. Good sign if you're looking for fast...
Read moreMaybe I came on a bad day because the food was not good at all. I ordered the lemon chicken platter to go. When I got home, I discovered that they did not include the lemon potatoes. So I had to go back and get the order corrected. The food was just average. The potatoes had flavor, but the chicken was tasteless. It was not seasoned at all. It did not have the basic seasoning like salt or pepper. There was no lemon flavor. It was not even roasted well. The skin was not crispy it was soft and flabby. The chicken was inedible, and it was probably the worst chicken dish I have had in years! I usually go to the Great Greek restaurant for this type of food. I just wanted to try something different. I geuss from now on I will just stay with that restaurant...
