Miso Restaurant — Restaurant in Round Rock

Let me start with the good stuff. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was clean and relaxing. The food presentation was amazing. I ordered the sashimi bibimbab. It was beautiful and on a lovely fresh bed of greens. Light with oil and a touch of salt. It was good and fresh, but not full of flavor. Soy sauce helped. But I was satisfied. My husband got the Sandookook (spelling) he didn’t enjoy his meal at all. He refused to send it back bc he hates when people do that. It was stringy. The veggies, the meat, everything. He said it felt like hair and he had to constantly keep pulling it out of his mouth and teeth. I say it’s his fault for not sending it back. He said the flavor was good, but there was no standout flavor like in the protein. And he didn’t enjoy it bc he was so tired from trying to chew it. They have a reasonable drink list. I had wine and it was a very generous pour. When we were done with the meal, the server dropped off the check with a smile. But she did not offer dessert or another drink. Just the check. She did not pick up our dirty plates any of the 20 times she passed us. When my husband put down his card, they were quick to pick that up. When he returned (a different server) he grabbed the plates I had stacked, but did not not come back to take my husbands bowls. This would have been a 20%+ tip had she offered dessert or another drink and taken our plates away. But we left 15%reluctantly. I wanted so much to like this restaurant. It’s so...

We came here expecting high quality service and food all around since the prices aren’t exactly cheap. The moment we had ordered our meal, the waiters first response was “wow you guys sure are hungry huh? that’s a lot of food”. It caught us so off guard I was in shock he had the audacity. The food was amazing our favorite dish was the beef bulgogi. Unfortunately we had also ordered the miso soup and it was nothing like anything we ordered. The soup tasted like straight up water with a spice seasoning that tasted horrendous. We took two sips and couldn’t touch it after that. I asked for a refund and the server came back telling me his manager said 30% was all they could refund? I was very confused I mean neither of us enjoyed the soup and I told him that’s not ok so he went and came back telling me 50% was the maximum. I mean, this is a restaurant. If a customer doesn’t like an item on the menu then they shouldn’t have to pay period. Very unfortunate considering this would have been a five star review all around if they hadn’t treated...

Super disappointed coming here for Saturday lunch. The reviews suggested the service and food were amazing, but we found neither to be true.

There was only one server for the entirety of the restaurant. He took forever to get us our initial drinks, then never bothered to check up on us when we wanted something else. He was fast, however, at getting us the check so we can pay.

The food was also a tremendous disappointment. The portion sizes were tiny and quality nothing special. I ordered a soup with beef brisket. There were literately 4 tiny pieces of brisket in the whole soup. We ordered two entrees with daily sides and received only one set of tiny dishes. We would have asked for more, but the server never bothered to check up on us in the entirety, and we could not attract his attention.

All in all, this was perhaps the most disappointing restaurant experience I've had in quite a while. For the price, there are much better restaurants around, just...
