The last time we had eaten at a RL was Raleigh, NC 2015. The visit left us with not wanting to visit another, carpets needed cleaning (sticky) and the odor was one that seemed to be from aging or lack of care. We ordered drinks, what we felt was a safe appetizer and left.
Fast forward, with new leadership we decided to give the Round Rock location a try. RL was near bankruptcy, bought out by a PE firm who installed a new CEO.
Walking in, we were impressed, the floors were immaculate, and the carpet was as it should be, no food or crumbs anywhere in the dining areas. There was not a crowd, it was 3.30pm on Wednesday, after lunch crowd and before dinner.
Haley G was serving us and did an excellent job, good recommendations, prompt on bring food and checked on us the right amount of times, we did not feel crowded or left wanting attention.
They start you with these delectably good biscuits and butter which we almost made a meal of. Next they came with our real starter, these very delicious stuff mushrooms -- excellent (I will use this word alot) and near the top of my list of all time favorites. I had the salmon with broccoli and rice. The salmon, cooked just right, not dry, moist and wonderfully tasty, the broccoli was excellent and the rice was good. I call it good because while it was warm, I felt it could have been warmer to match the temperature of the salmon or broccoli both I felt were at very good temperatures. NO ROOM FOR DESSERT.
To cap off the day, Brendan (sp?, the front of house manager) and Fabianna, General Mgr. stopped by - nice touch. We talked about the changes in the CEO and leadership teams and the fact they can see the work paying off. We provided our input on the meal and the establishment (the cleanest restaurant I have been to in some time - no food on the floor, tables orderly etc. and very presentable staff).
I feel good about its resurgence and we will certainly add this back to the list of go to places -- for now the Round Rock...
Read moreHey, Jamud Manager at Red Lobster at the Round Rock Texas location. Stated I could not have a to-go box for my leftover unlimited endless shrimp I did not finish eating. I have never had this happen before. The other locations have always given a to-go box for over-finished meals when I eat my endless shrimp. I was so offended by this. With all the money I have spent with your company, I expect better treatment than this. This location is horrible and I am not just saying that. I have been to all the locations and no of them have went to war over a To-go box really a to go box.follow up was trash. Look!
Dear
Thank you for your interest in Red Lobster.
As you know, Ultimate Endless Shrimp is a guest-favorite and we’re very excited to offer this great value to our guests.
When dining in, Ultimate Endless Shrimp is truly endless. You can choose 3 kinds to start, and then you can order additional shrimp selections until your cravings are fully satisfied. Just like most all-you-can-eat restaurants, it’s all you can eat and enjoy while you are in the restaurant, but we cannot provide take home containers.
Our goal is to serve you the freshest, tastiest shrimp every time, so we appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you again soon!
We appreciate the time you took to contact us.
Sincerely,
Britney
Guest Relations I am not happy or coming back. To think this is your reply to me. After what I wrote to you. The war over a to go box for leftovers. The inconsistencies between your different locations on to go boxes for left overs on endless shrimp do not match I go all the time so I would no. Obviously you do not go to your restaurants. Your reply socks. Do not reply to...
Read moreHoly hell that was terrible. I was actually embarrassed to leave no tip. Our waitress was Sunshine and she was as nonexistent as you could possibly be. We got our drinks and then were left alone for more than 30 minutes waiting to order. Our kids were frozen and asking to leave but we would at least have to pay for our drinks before leaving, so we stuck it out. The food took forever and was delivered by another waitress because Sunshine was mingling with a group in the banquet room that were her family members. The orders came out and there were no shell crackers to crack the crab shells. When we walked to the kitchen and asked for help (because Sunshine wasn’t around) they eventually sent Sunshine to our table where she’d said that previous customers stole all the shell crackers and suggested we made another utensil to make it work but she only had one for us to share. Everyone’s drinks were empty and no one to refill them. After we ate, we couldn’t find her to get our ticket to pay. Eventually another waitress flagged her down and she tried to make up for everything with free ice cream for the kids but didn’t have any spoons. After another 5 minutes I sent the family to the car where we had plastic spoons for them to warm up and pick up their morale while I stayed to pay. When she was at our table she was incredibly nice, but that couldn’t make up for the terrible service. We should have joined her family and friends to actually get our food that we paid over $120 for. The food was prepared well and we had no issues with any of it. We visit the area regularly and eat out at restaurants of this type. I can’t wait to not...
