Everything about this place is absolutely top notch. Generous portions in spite of the price, and incredible flavor that has that extremely rare balance of giving a nostalgia as well as feeling delightfully sumptuous.
The lechon kawali was perfectly crispy, the lumpia incredibly flavorful and crisp with not a spot of sogginess in the wrapper. I'm very particular about chicken adobo since it was my grandmother's specialty, but this place knocked it out the park. More herbaceous than the vinegar-forward dish I remember, but perfectly satisfying. My absolute favorite was the pork bbq skewers, that were sweet and incredibly tender, with a wonderful char to the edges.
The customer service was outstanding, the lady behind the counter so incredibly sweet. I watched as customer after customer came to her stall and struck up familiar conversation with her, and it was obvious she had built wonderful rapport with her customers. While the restaurant is in a food court in Ocean Mart, it's not exactly a fancy sort of atmosphere, but if you're interested in incredible food, you won't find anything lacking at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen here before with friends, but only first time with my husband and son. Service is okay, tho waiting time is understandable. Ate (the cashier) is very nice and helpful. But when we were eating, The owner I think because they call her mama, approached us, At first it was okay because we know sheās just being hospitable, which us filipinos are known for. She started giving us free stuff, It was really good and we are thankful. But then she keeps on coming back and telling us that my son is so handsome, which was okay at first, but then he suddenly KISSED my son. NO. I froze. First, we donāt know you, second, DO NOT KISS OTHER PEOPLEāS KIDS WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE PARENTS. Just DONāT. Not being rude to elders but that was NOT OKAY. We lost our appetite after that.
Also, your Bulalo mami has a lot of hairs. idk maybe lashes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe fact that this place has 5 stars blows me away. My guess is that they are paid for reviews. My wife is Filipino and even she said itās a shady business at best. Went here 7/7/2022 and ordered a two item plate. First red flag was no listed prices anywhere for the difference sized plates! I mean nowhere. Maybe I should have asked yes I admit but my hell what a rip off! Prices werenāt on the main kiosk sign or the small sheets on the table by the order area. Only prices were for small ala carte items. Second red flag. They didnāt offer me a receipt. Said the receipts werenāt working. Final tally was $30.56 that showed up on my bank account for a 2 item plate. People Iām telling you stay the hell away from this place. They are sketchy! Iāll be reporting them to the Utah Labor Commission, BBB and...
