Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Royal Oak

Random Afternoon walk-in order some weeks back. Probably about 1:30pm. It was my first time at Marcos and the pizza was wonderful. My Pizza was made with such great ingredients. Prices weren't bad at all. Everything is getting so expensive nowadays. It's great to get a couple of pizzas for a great price. It gave me Dominos vibes with an ever so slightly Papa John's vibe imo. Crust was A1. If you're not a Domino's guy like myself and wish they made a better version of it, it's Marco's.

Now the cons. Nothing to do with the pizza. The atmosphere here was super dead! When you walk in there's No sound at all. You barely hear pizza pans banging in the kitchen. No TV, No Radio. Most of all, No talking. Staff wasn't even talking amongst themselves. Walked into Marco's and wasn't even greeted. The young lady walked up to register and stood there for me to speak first. Explained to her this was my first time here. Nothing... Then preceded to let me stumble through the menu the best way I could reading all the different options and pricing. Was told to put my card in the reader after ordering and that was about it. Give us 10m and walked away. I figured the receipt would be attached to the pizza box. But I didn't get a chance to ask for one before she turned around to leave.

I have seen Marco's in Toledo and never had the chance to try them. I hope they feel welcome in Michigan. So far they're an awesome addition here. The food is great! The friendliness of the staff is second to non. The place was clean for the most part. There was some small curly hairs in the restroom sink. Someone may have done something to their hair over the sink and not rinsed it out. The staff can't be faulted as when you're running a restaurant your focus is providing for the customers. There is a small section for those who want to eat there but this is mainly a carry out and delivery restaurant. I love that they have examples of the sizes of the pizza on the wall, they have pictures of the flavored crust as well. The prices are very reasonable. What gives this place 4 stars is the awesome friendly and professional staff as well as the great tasting food. What stops this from being a 5 star restaurant? There could've been more seasonings on the crust, the chicken was good but it wasn't the best chicken and the restrooms could've been a little more clean. For the cheesy bread, it was really good but the sauce helped it to taste better. I would have liked for the bread to taste better without the sauce. This evening thought we'd try the deep dish pizza. When it was delivered it looked like it was turned upside down. The dough was raw and there was barely any cheese or sauce on it. We called to speak to the manager and when we started telling him about the problem he pawned us off to the "General Manager" Mason who was abruptly defensive from the moment he got on the phone. My husband explained what was wrong with the pizza and he wanted the driver to come back and get it so they could see for themselves how bad it was. The "General Manager" refused this by saying he wasn't wasting his drivers time by having him pick it up. He kept saying he was trying to give us a free pizza but my husband told him we weren't interested in that. My husband went on to say he'd worked a 10 hour day and was looking forward to a nice pizza and when we got it, it was awful. This manager then says, "I worked a 12 hour day and will work a 10 hour day tomorrow,. What??? This guy obviously has not had ANY managerial training in his life. To the owner...this is the person representing your business?? We will NEVER order from Marco's place again. #marcosnomore...
