It's a McDonalds. So you know what's up. It's a downtown location so you get that vibe. They have good ice tea. Drive thru is popular. Update: now, four years later I don’t think the place has changed that much. Service is definitely a little better now. The drive-through can get pretty busy but it is in downtown Royal Oak and I think that’s to be expected especially around breakfast hours and dinner hours. The drive-through moves pretty fast so even if the line seems pretty long, I wouldn’t be too daunted by it. If you’re in a hurry though, just park and go in order ahead on the app is very helpful although last time I ordered ahead on the app. I got there about 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready and then had to pull into the side spot and wait about 10 minutes, so I don’t think they started my order until I got there. It was a large order for six people which is why I ordered ahead and gave plenty of time no more dollar beverages sadly, but I’m not surprised that went away across the country overall like I said, in the first review, it’s a McDonald’s you know what you’re getting, use the app to place your order and you can usually get some pretty good deals. My app always has buy one get one breakfast sandwiches. Sometimes it’s buy one get one free sometimes just buy one get one for a dollar you can points pretty quickly too, and get free food that way. I just got a free quarter pounder with cheese for 6000 points. I have no idea how long it took me to a crew them though because I never really think about using them, don’t know if I just got them or I’ve had them for a while. Read moreJanuary 6th update; so the girl at the drive-thru didn't even say anything to me when she opened the window just stuck her hand out came to get my food from the other window and not a peep out of the other employee.... You really should watch your employees being on their phones while they're taking orders as we have seen many credit cards be stolen across the country over McDonald's employees live streaming the credit card as soon as they swipe it not saying that you are doing it here but if I notice any charges I will be sure to reach out
Update: I just visited the restaurant at around 9:05 and first of all the person working the drive-thru window barely even was understandable because she was speaking so softly or talking to somebody else?
The older black lady at the pickup window gave me barely any fries and they were cold !! I live down the street and opened the bag To find them not even warm?!!! I'm guessing that goes along with the laziness I was picking up from her demeanor...
top it off the McChicken I ordered for some reason had a piece of onion in it! Get it together or I'll go to a franchise location you do not own. Never had issues at this location or your 13 miles location. This is the type of service that turns people away from your restaurant and back to cooking a better quality sirloin burger themselves.. go to robots if your day shift is good and turn them on at night! The nuggets boxs were not even closed either ! Like how lazy can you get just close at 9 if this is the service your giving!

Read moreWhile I understand working on a holiday is never enjoyable making it the customers problem is not acceptable. Associate yells at the top of her lungs our food is ready but fails to give us our sauces or drinks. Another associate was extremely polite and got us our drinks and even offered a drink carrier and apologized. The woman in the purple shirt with glasses then I can hear sitting at the back with my child constantly cussing and complaining the whole time. I feel as a customer I know more about their staffing issue as they close at 4pm today than I should have. As she tried to rush us out while we were still eating I finally said something. She then proceeded to scream at me and try to continue her rants. Thankfully someone else came to talk to me as the whole rest of the staff sent this crazy person outside. My husband got this all on video and we will be following up with corporate as well. Thank you for ruining our holiday and rare family time we got together after leaving the zoo because you were miserable. I won’t even comment on the trash on tables or how we had to go up 3 different times to get our items because this woman was more worried about getting back to her phone and complaining than doing her job.
