Update: Someone actually reached out to my bookkeeper (a few weeks after my review) with an attitude about the review and regarding the tax exempt situation. Im saddened that it took a Google review for someone to respond to all inquiries we left via phone and email throughout the summer. :( ——
I've never dined in, however I've ordered takeout from them over the past few years. As a person who has ordered takeout for just myself, everything has gone pretty smooth. If there ever was an issue, the owner/manager would make it right. That was a huge plus.
The unfortunate part came when I decided to utilize them for a Team (Staff) Appreciation luncheon. Getting this scheduled was tough, but it did get done. Although they did show up about 30 minutes late for setup, I knew the food would be good. The spread was good. The bad part came with payment. They knew up front that we were a school, and would need to pay with this via school funds and be tax exempt. Unfortunately, over the past few months my bookkeeper has not been able to get a call back or any type of answer or response from them so that our organization can "close the books" on this purchase. This sucks, as protocol for the organization, as most that are tax exempt, the tax will likely be owed by me since I was the purchaser.
With all that said, their food is good, their service is now below okay, especially given what we've gone through over the past few months.
Big question(s): Will I go back to them? As an individual, probably. I haven't been back, even though I would order from them more frequently prior to the luncheon fiasco.
Will I use them for big events? Probably not, just because of the less than sub par customer service we've received...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to visit Kouzina restaurant, and while I have generally had positive experiences there, my most recent visit left me disappointed. My family and I embarked on a two-hour drive to indulge in their delicious Greek-oriented cuisine, as we have done in the past. Being Greek American, finding authentic Greek food is always a delight, and Kouzina has consistently delivered in that aspect, particularly with their mouthwatering gyros.
However, upon our arrival on a Tuesday evening, we were disheartened to find the restaurant closed. It was quite perplexing and frustrating, considering we had made the considerable effort to make the trip specifically for a meal at Kouzina. It would have been immensely helpful if their hours of operation were updated and clearly displayed on their website or social media platforms.
Nonetheless, I want to emphasize that our previous experiences at Kouzina have been nothing short of delightful. The warm and inviting ambiance, coupled with the friendly and attentive staff, always made us feel welcome. The menu boasts a delectable selection of traditional Greek dishes, prepared with care and authentic flavors. Their gyros, in particular, have consistently impressed me with their taste and quality, reminiscent of the gyros I have enjoyed in Greece.
Despite this recent hiccup, I am hopeful that Kouzina restaurant will take the feedback into consideration and update their hours of operation to ensure that future patrons do not encounter similar...
Read moreKouZina was a nice little modern Greek Street side pickup cafe. The food is limited in selection, almost like a Chipotle or Moe's but for Greek food. It's actually a good setup (basically just pita, gyros, fries and salad...oh and some desserts) but the options in toppings are pretty expansive. Food is typically made pretty quickly (even though the website says 40 minutes by default...lol).
Ordering through the website is fast and easy. Although I'd you do it by mobile device, it's a bit finicky, requiring a whole page refresh if you accidentally select something you don't want.
They have a nice patio eating area in the back, indoor seating at booths and tables inside and even some street side, sidewalk tables for people watching.
Now the food. The flavors are quite delicious whether you get a salad, gyro or spinach pie. The meat is also well flavored and the fries are AWESOME. Get them with feta. It blends beautifully with the seasoning. The veggies were a little bit cool, as though they had been in the fridge for a bit but they tasted fresh enough. The gryo pita is quite good and not too dry. The meat is well prepared as well. The only disappointing items were the baclava and other phyllo based items. They definitely had been in the fridge too long. Flavor wasn't bad but the consistency kind of ruined it. Maybe we got an older batch. From what other reviewers say, they should be decent.
All and all, they're a good setup and a nice place to grab a quick...
