Terrible Service. I came here when this place was still the Little Cub Cafe. I went during the summer and the service was terrible. When I arrived, my partner was left standing there in an empty waiting room while the employees ignore him. I watched one of the waiters talk back to a customer and the waitress only complained about how “busy” it was. (There were only four groups) No one was being rude, everyone was being respectful, understanding, and patient. When we asked for a side, the waitress rudely put the side on the table and sped walked away. If I could reenact the way she did it. I would. I usually like to leave larger tips but the waiting time, the food, AND, the service! I told my partner not to leave a tip, he did anyways.
If this is the same family that just rebranded themselves as La Vaca, do better. I tried going in today and I was completely ignored. Just like my partner was. I didn’t even wait two minutes. The waitress, the second waitress in the kitchen, the cooks, the people talking in the kitchen. I know they saw me, I know they noticed I walked in and I was ignored.
I know this is a family business and this is why I wanted to eat here in the first place. I also thought since they rebranded themselves, they would be doing it for the purpose of starting over and improving themselves. I can see nothing has changed.
Really disappointed, I’m an advocate for supporting all small businesses, especially family businesses. Just not this one. Maybe one day I will want to give it...
Read moreBeen coming to Ruidoso for years with my family every year after Christmas. I have tried a lot of the different restaurants in Downtown and driving in we saw this new place. I researched it and didn’t see much info on it since it just opened last week. They have the menu on their FB page and it look decent enough for us to have our dinner there. Wife and I both had burgers, kids had the kids burger and older son the Chicken sandwich. The atmosphere is nice they do have a patio, they have a decent setup Our table did have a white cover which was dirty from a prior meal. Service was attentive to our needs and friendly. Food didn’t take long as we were the only ones there at the time, a bit later another family followed. The presentation of the food was good , but it did lack flavor… the patties need more seasoning , the side tater tots were crunchy and good. I ordered the chips and queso dip and it look like it was can cheese with some added green chili… didn’t taste bad but thought it would be better. The tostadas came warm and seemed to be made there which was nice they also included a salsa which also seemed like the Pace picante sauce. The prices a reasonable and I’m curious to try some of their Mexican plates. I think overall it’s a new place and they will be improving on various things. I will return and good luck to them. Try it! Posted some pics as there...
Read moreWe had just eaten here for lunch and everything lacked flavor I’m a born n raised New Mexican and I know chile con queso and whatever I had was not it. We ordered fried for my 3 year old and they were dripping in grease I could’ve squeegee it out sent it back and was still forced to pay for it. Not a big deal, but I feel like if something is Un edible I shouldn’t have to pay for it. Didn’t see a weight or the entire time we were there except for to drop off our drinks and our food I’ve gone when they first open and they were great place is starting...
