As of this post, Roso's has been open not quite 2 weeks and I've eaten there once with friends, my wife has eaten there once with a friend, and together we've eaten there two additional times with friends! It's safe to say we really like it. It's all good but wife gives "thumbs up" to the lasagna and one of the weekly specials (Shrimp a la Rustica w/goat cheese). She also ordered the Shrimp Scampi and found it good but rather plain. I give a big "thumbs up" to the Warm Spinach Salad. I've also had the Lemon Chicken and Chicken Dijon and, as with the Shrimp Scampi, both could've used a few more ingredients. An extra plus are the desserts made on-site! There are no bargains on the menu (esp, for light eaters) but the servings are very generous and you'll be asking for a box. So, on a "per serving" basis, there's value here. Just be aware of the days of operation and their hours as they work out the kinks (short staffed) with hopes of adding dinner...
Read moreSo often when you go to eat in a tourist town, it can be a great disappointment or a wonderful surprise. I am pleased to report this is the latter. We ate here based on the reviews and they were accurate. We sat on the patio overlooking the river and it is beautiful. We ordered drinks, my husbands tea was flavorful and fresh and my lemonade was very good (no alcohol 🫤). Bread came with the meal and although it seemed store bought it was fresh. The bruschetta was very good. I had lasagna and it has a great marinara sauce and the noodles were not overcooked. My husband had the chicken Parmesan and it was also very good. Chicken not over breaded and the noodles that can with it were not overcooked either....
Read moreWow! Is this really in Ruidoso?! I am floored by how good this restaurant is and that it is in such a deserving village! My wife and I always judge every Italian restaurant we go to with a sampling of the chicken parm and chicken Alfredo. Alfredo sauce is usually tough to make and many places fall short on this half of our equation. Not here. Delicious, bold, creamy, smoky flavor for the Alfredo and the grilled chicken is tender and juicy. The chicken parm is solid as well!
The atmosphere is cozy and this place should be full at all times with customers! The staff is super friendly and it was a pleasure to dine here. Definitely do yourself a favor and do not...
