Yesterday we went to the Arden way location only because my grandson who is autistic kept asking to go. I wasn't thrilled, last time we went was 6 months ago & service was terrible. I said ok we would try again. When we got there, the hostess was not able to answer the question of how long was the wait. There was one lady before us, the restaurant was half empty. A server walked up and said I just clocked in, then she was able to tell the woman I'll seat you in just a couple of minutes. She took the woman and her guest to a table, came back, still looking like she didn't know what to do & unsure. I asked about how long she finally said about 5 minutes. I said okay, I only ask again because my grandson was getting anxious. She sat us in a different area where there were 2 tables with 2 people each. A waitress brought food to one of the tables next to us. They had to ask for silverware, she returned with silverware, never acknowledging us. A couple minutes later a Manager came and asked if we needed help. We said Yes, so she took our order, we always ask for a bowl of fruit for my grandson can keep busy. About 10 minutes later she brought the strawberries out and left. No silverware. My grandson started eating his strawberries with his hands because he was not waiting. About 1/2 later, when the waitress that was helping the other table came back, I asked about our Is appetizer. She said let me check. She left about 5 mins later she brings the appetizer & 2 mins after that our main dishes out. So here we sit with with appetizers & main dishes to eat at the same time. A new waitress came up and apologized that she didn't know she was covering our table. I had to ask for silverware. I had to go looking for more napkins. And the manager came up and asked can I help you? I said I looking for more napkins, I told her that we just got our appetizers and are main dishes at the same time. All she could say was well, I brought your son his strawberries. I tried to explain to her that was not the problem, it was the appetizers & main dish at the same time, Hello. I was done. I went back to the table. We ate the appetizers. I told the waitress I wanted boxes & the bill. She brought the boxes, we boxed up our food but no bill. Again waiting! My daughter took my grandson out to car. I waited another 5 to 7 minutes to get our bill. I paid cash and left. Our bill is $ 40.99, I gave her $50.00 and said rest of its yours & left. I do not plan on going back. I truly believe the hostess, servers and service that we the customers receive from a restaurant start at / with the management. Maybe they need to replace this manager or train her better so she can train the employees better. Customers pay their wages might get better service. I've given Applebee's on Arden way, chance after chance for the last 3 years. No more chances, no more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were sat in a timely manner. Our server didnt seem aware she was our server. I think our table was out of her section. After making contact with us and bringing us water, I ordered a strawberry lemonade and my girlfriend ordered a beer. Her beer took a littler longer than I would like, but thats not the big deal. What my girlfirend and I were upset about is how long our food took to come after we finished our appetizer. Our server came by once to tell us the food would be out soon. That was a lie. We found out later from the hostess that was running food, that there was a mistake and one of our plates was given to the wrong table, I am fairly confident that our food went to the table that was 2 tables over, near the entrance to the office, because she complained she recieved the wrong food as well. The food runner/hostess also tried to bring us someone elses appetizer. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp and instead of making her a new plate as well to account for my chicken sandwich being remade, it clearly sat under a heating lamp long enough for the mashed potatoes to develop a skin. At no point did the manager come check on us until I asked the bartender to speak with her. The manager came out in a an apron, presumably because she had to help cook or wash dishes. We did not take our food to go, my girlfriend never touched her chicken and shrimp and my sandwich never made it to the table. We closed out our single beer, strawberry lemonade and appetizer and left. Im not upset that my food was given away or that I had to leave so we could catch our movie before we could eat, I'm upset and disappointed at all of the missed opportunities there were to address the problem before I asked to speak with the manager. This entire event took place over the course of about an hour and I dont know what was happening in that place. The bartender looked miserable and honestly burdened when I asked her to speak with the manager, the hostess/food runner looked confused, there was an employee in uniform sitting at the bar on her phone, and the manager wasn't present on the floor at all until the problem was already beyond repair. Also, how can you expect the hostess to be a busser, a food runner, and a hostess when she is clearly not good at doing any of that. I sincerely hope someone from district or regional mangement reaches out. At no point did I yell, raise my voice, or otherwise become indignant and even though things went horribly wrong the manager did handle the situation with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlmost Everything Went Crazy Wrong During This Girlz Nite. We just wanted to catch up, have a few Happy Hour appetizers, a couple of drinks, & a decent dinner. 1st crazy thing is we just received our food and there's an odd lady across from our table just standing there looking at us. So when we make eye contact she starts to ask for money. We politely tell her "no sorry we don't have it" and she says you don't carry cash? #SuperAwkward The manager or shift lead did come out & ask the lady if she was asking customers for money and she quickly lied and said "no". 2nd crazy thing is I am talking to my friend and telling her a detailed story about something and one of the male servers starts walking behind my seat down the ramp loudly reciting parts of my conversation. I was so shocked and confused both at the same time. I couldn't believe his behavior and he laughed it off saying that he was just playing with us but, I felt that my privacy was violated and it was very rude especially for a worker to joke with customers in that manner and assume that they will find it to be funny. It wasn't funny at all. I was very disappointed. 3rd crazy thing our server billed us twice for my friend's food & I caught the error because I asked to pay by kiosk. The last thing that took the cake and sealed the deal was a big child between the age of 10-12 just belts off and runs through the restaurant "I was like, NOPE, I CANNOT!!!" I AM SO DONE. So the food was mediocre, I didn't taste any alcohol in my drink but, our server was nice and she tried but, kept forgetting stuff & going to many other tables and forgetting we were waiting for her. The wonton chicken taco appetizers were the best thing that evening. š My double crunch shrimp were less than double crunchy and the sauces for shrimp if you don't want cocktail are slim options. My fries didn't stay warm long and neither did our artichoke dip we split with mozzarella sticks. We were very disappointed because we came here a couple weeks prior and had drinks appetizers and absolutely no problems. Just a good experience. This time was so bad we both said we weren't coming back. I vsaid maybe 2-3 years they'll have new staff, properly trained employees and security to keep the...
