Davila's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Sacramento

I came back to the Davila’s after a few after a few months to give it a shot again. This time around instead of giving it more stars, I think I’ll give it less. I came in early and I ordered through the drive-through I was held by a young woman who was pretty nice and friendly. I glanced at the menu I noticed they have so many items which is good if you go with different people who like ordering different stuff. They also have a bunch of sweets! For those with a sweet tooth. I ended up getting the California burrito anytime I go to a Mexican food place I like getting to California. I already have a normal spot where I get mine from, but I like to try other places with taxes. The burrito came out to a total of $15.71 yikes that’s almost 20 for a burrito with no drink. The only thing I liked about the burrito was the tortilla. The meat tasted very old and seems like if it was cooked a few hours ago, the same goes for the potatoes. I kept taking more bites, thinking it would eventually be better, but that was not the case I kept looking at it and seeing little sparkling things I think that was a whole bunch of MSG added to the food. If you need to add some MSG to your California burrito, I don’t know what to say. I don’t think I’ll come back to this place or rather just try another...

All these reviews on yelp talking bad about the meat, but I have to disagree. Now to be fair consider the following: 1) I'm no connoisseur 2) it's especially hard to tell how the meat tastes when you get the California burrito like me with so many (delicious) flavors and 3) My review is limited only to the Carne Asada within the Cali burrito. Well I decided I'd take some parts out and try them individually. Also note I got this at 12:30am so the food obviously won't be "fresh". It goes without saying the fries and pico da gallo are good, hard to mess those up. How about that meat? Carne Asada is, besides lacking some flavor and a bit dry, just fine. Doesn't taste old to me and I've had some old nasty left out meat before. This is a TWENTY FOUR hour mexican place with a somewhat wide range of food, do we expect them to be fine dining? For a fast food place I'd say this is bomb. Much better than Carolina's was, so kudos to the new owners. Also, shoutout to our friend on google reviews who left a 1 star review based solely on the fact they were missing an item. Just a PSA to not be that person, it really harms the star rating. They are single handedly taking down the star rating here...

WORST experience ever !

I ordered a torta and enchilada combo and once I went home I realized it was the wrong combo. I came back and told her what was wrong with the order. She first said I didn’t charge you for that, but she NEVER gave me a receipt so how would we know? Then she replied “you ate it haha” I then told her no I did not. She called the chef over and they spoke in Spanish and said that I just wanted a free meal. While we waited for the food to be corrected the cashier then spoke in Spanish and said “she’s just trying to get a free meal” “she ate it” . Very argumentative cashier and cook. Also when they corrected my meal the cook they did not put any of the meat in my meal just beans rice and cheese ! They had 5 people inside the kitchen “hanging out” she slammed the window in my face multiple times when I would ask a question. The food didn’t even taste good. Very upset waste of...
