To find Frank, look for the famous BLUE DOOR. Its location is in the Ice Blocks but somewhat hidden from the normal walking path of R Street. Once you open that blue door you are in for a treat. It’s almost as if you’re in another space in time. It’s quite dark inside but almost feel like you’re in a fancy bar but yet divey at the same time. They accept only Cash here, but they do have an ATM machine inside the bar. They serve tasty cocktails and the ambience is relaxed and friendly. I don’t believe they serve food, however there are several eateries on R street that’s walkable and open late. Perfect for getting cocktails before dinner. Sometimes you just want to get away, Frank’s gives that to you. Great place and will stop by again.

Thoughtful and well crafted cocktails. It’s not to expensive, but they def aiming for high quality in product and service. I think I recall (but dont quote or @ me) Alejandro mentioned his new fall menu to include a spin on an old fashioned with Scotch & Mezcal and I forget the rest…gotta go find out! All the good bits of a hipster bar without any of those bothersome tudes you might find at anywhere trying to be this cool. Shout out to Alejandro, who made a multi-component, whale of a drink for me with enthusiasm and friendliness even though it was a bit of a ridiculous ask. 10/10 will be drinking here often. This is now my favorite cocktail bar.

Frank has the vibe of a speakeasy but is not one. The blue door is interesting and gives the place a nice touch. The inside was clean and look really nice, similar to a speakeasy but the music was a bit too loud for me. The cocktails were above average and people seem were having a good time. We had a good time. They only accept cash but they have a fee-free atm inside. The bartenders were attentive and nice. Overall, nothing fancy but overall a nice spot. Will definitely go back.

Franks: Consistently Excellent Cocktails in a Sophisticated Setting

I've been to Franks several times now, and each visit reinforces the same conclusion: this place knows how to make a perfect drink. Every cocktail I've ordered has been exceptionally well-balanced and genuinely delicious – a testament to skilled bartenders who clearly care about their craft.

The atmosphere is another major draw. It's dimly lit, creating a high-class yet low-key vibe that's perfect for a relaxed evening. There's a certain understated elegance to the space that makes it feel special without being pretentious.

My wife jokingly (mostly!) says, "It's a good place to take your mistress," which speaks to the intimate and somewhat discreet ambiance. Whether you're looking for a quiet drink with a close companion or simply want to enjoy a top-notch cocktail in a refined setting, Franks is an excellent choice. Highly...
