I generally don't have a problem when bringing my dog here, but today I guess I encountered some "regulars." My puppy is 6 months old and weighs about 45lbs and he doesn't play with dogs bigger than him and dogs that are bigger than him generally leave him alone too. Well today 3 different mix German shepherds jumped on top of him and started biting him and growling and overall were aggressive towards my puppy. Before we entered the park the same 3 dogs did the same thing to another dog and I thought maybe if we kept a distance from them everything would be okay. Well I was wrong and they ran up on my puppy who was just minding his own business. My puppy was yelping and crying and he tried jumping in my arms, but the other dogs wouldn't leave him alone. The owners of the dogs didn't seem to care and one of the owners told me that I shouldn't bring my puppy to the dog park because he's beta and their dogs are alpha. I didn't expect my puppy to be attacked today. Normally we go and everything is fine and dandy and he plays without having to worry about being attacked, but after today we most likely won't be back. The attitudes of the owners we so nonchalant when their dogs attacked mine and to tell someone that they shouldn't bring their puppy to a dog park just baffles me. I shouldn't have to worry about my dog being ganged up on in the...

Read moreThis is a great place that I have been bringing my 80 lb chocolate lab to for the past 4 months or so.
There are separate large and small dog parks. The parks are clean and most owners clean up after their dogs in the large park (the only one I've been in). There is lots of seating, but not a lot of shade for when it's sunny and hot. There is a water fountain and usually a bowl next it for water. The park is sand in the center, and the outer edge is bark and other foliage. Noon on the weekends seems to be the time there are the most dogs.
I haven't seen any fights or injuries yet, but lots of humpers and owners who don't seem to care when their dog takes another dog's toy. If your pup is partial to a certain toy, it's best to leave it at home. The other owners have been friendly thus far, and most are open to having a conversation.
All in all its a safe, clean park so far. Our dog loves the park and most of the dogs there. It would be five stars if there was more shade for...
