Stepping into Iron Horse Tavern, you're immediately enveloped by a warm, rustic charm that sets the stage for the culinary journey that lies ahead. High ceilings, exposed brick walls, and cozy seating create an ambiance that's both welcoming and chic.
The star of our visit was Tyler, our server and bartender. Sporting an impressive beard that added to his unique persona, Tyler's expertise shone through in every interaction. His in-depth knowledge about the menu and his excellent bartending skills ensured that our evening was nothing short of fantastic.
Tyler was always on hand to offer insightful recommendations and share intriguing stories about the dishes and drinks on the menu. His approach to service was a perfect blend of professionalism and personal touch that left us feeling like honored guests.
As for the food and drinks, Iron Horse Tavern delivered in spades. The menu was a delightful array of innovative dishes, each one more enticing than the last. From their delectable appetizers to the hearty main courses, every dish was prepared to perfection and beautifully presented.
The standout was the perfectly balanced cocktails, mixed by Tyler himself. These drinks were not only visually appealing but also packed with an array of flavors that were the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
And who can forget the fantastic selection of local craft beers? Tyler’s knowledge about each brew was impressive, making the process of choosing a pint an experience in itself.

This restaurant is more than just a dining spot - it's a place where good food, great drinks, and excellent company combine to create unforgettable memories.

Read moreI've had the pleasure of dining at Iron Horse Tavern on several occasions, and there's definitely something special about this place. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a night out with friends. The menu boasts an array of delectable options, and there are a couple of dishes that have truly won my heart.
First off, their fish and chips are simply delightful. The crispy batter, tender fish, and perfectly cooked chips create a symphony of flavors and textures that leave me craving for more. I've had this dish both in-house and via delivery, and while the taste remains exceptional, there have been instances where I've noticed a slight variation in the preparation. It's understandable that different chefs may contribute their touch, but I'd love to see more consistent execution across the board.
Speaking of delivery, the salmon with garlic fries is another favorite of mine. The dish maintains its presentation and flavor even when brought to my doorstep. The attention to detail in the packaging is commendable, but as with any restaurant, there's room for improvement in maintaining that same high quality whether dining in or enjoying the meal at home.
Iron Horse Tavern, you're clearly doing a lot right in terms of your menu, atmosphere, and dedication to the community. I appreciate the effort to support local and keep the experience enjoyable. My only hope is that you take note of the importance of consistency. With the plethora of dining options available, it's crucial to maintain the loyalty of your customers by delivering that same wonderful experience every time.
In conclusion, Iron Horse Tavern has captured my taste buds and my heart to some extent. With a few adjustments in maintaining consistent quality, this restaurant has the potential to become an absolute go-to spot in the community. Keep up the great work, and I'm excited to continue supporting your journey of...
Read moreThis is a twenty something's type of brunch. However due to outdoor seating and the ability to sit larger groups it's all ages actually eating there. This may seem like not a big deal, but with the loud and club style music,it can make it very hard to hear people. Your tastes or concerns may not find that to be a big deal though.
The menu isn't exactly special or well thought out, but enough it's to probably keep most people from being upset. Asking for a "spicy" blood Mary got me a bloody Mary that most Californians wouldn't think is spicy. Most of the party just settled for the two eggs entree. I had the stuffed french toast. The french toast was good, but overly sweet and overpowered flavors. By the end of it, I definitely felt like I may have just got diabetes. The shade was nice, but the gaps in the covering still allows the Sacramento sun to beat down.
While there aren't reservations, you can put your name in and they will text you when you can be seated. Thankfully the entire party doesn't have to be present. The staff was friendly, and our server Megan was especially friendly and patient. We brought our two Great Danes, and the entire staff worked around their size and were friendly towards them. I would have appreciated them offering some sort of dog bowl, but ultimately that is on me to provide. Megan worked with everyone in the group and made sure to keep checking on us as party members arrived and...
