TLDR: subpar food that had a rock in it that I bit into, service sucked, but view was great. Monday night at 7:30pm. (But it was a holiday) we only went here because our original plan of Joe's Crab was a 2hr wait. Atmosphere: 5/5. Nice details throughout and the view from the patio is great. Food: 2/5. Chips were cold and almost stale. Salsa was meh. Food itself was okay but bland. I personally had the chicken fajitas. Overall it was subpar Mexican Food. Service: -10/5. Awful from beginning to end! While waiting to even get our name in, staff walked by multiple times without even acknowledging us. The guy who finally did take our name did end up apologizing at least. After we were sat we waited a while, no water or chips/salsa were brought to us even though we saw that other tables had it. When our server did finally emerge he didn't even ask us how our night was or introduce himself. He just immediately asked if we wanted to order. We did. Drinks came and then food came. But the food didn't have silverware, the guy who brought it said he'd be back with the silverware but never showed. We had to flag down our waiter to ask for the silverware so we could actually eat, and asked if the chips and salsa were special order or something. He didn't say anything, he just came back with chips and salsa. We still never were offered water. It was later when I bit into something hard. Pulled it out and it was a small rock! No idea what it was mixed in since I had rice, beans, chicken, guac, and salsa all in the tortilla. They ended up taking my entree off the bill. Its a good thing I'm a soft chewer though! The rock isn't why I wanted to leave a review though, I was going to leave one regardless because of the awful service. My suggestion? Skip this place. Its not worth the hassle.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Terraza Mexican Food, and I must say it was a truly fantastic experience. From the delicious food to the friendly staff, everything was top-notch. However, one member of the staff truly stood out and made the experience even more memorable - Nydia, the bartender at the bar. Nydia was an absolute delight to interact with. She was warm, friendly, and attentive from the moment I sat down at the bar. She took the time to chat with me and recommend some of her favorite drinks, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Her knowledge of the different cocktails and the ingredients used was impressive, and she took the time to explain the flavors and make recommendations based on my preferences. Nydia's mixology skills were impressive, and the drinks she prepared were exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the Margarita, which had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, and the spicy Michelada, which had just the right amount of heat. She also prepared a few drinks that were not on the menu, which were delicious and unique. Aside from her excellent bartending skills, Nydia's personality really shone through. She was genuinely interested in making my experience at La Terraza Mexican Food the best it could be, and her infectious positive attitude made me feel right at home. Her exceptional service added an extra level of enjoyment to my dining experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend La Terraza Mexican Food, and I can't speak highly enough about Nydia, the bartender at the bar. Her exceptional service, knowledge, and personality were truly exceptional, and she made my dining experience unforgettable. If you're looking for an amazing meal and drinks, be sure to stop by La Terraza and ask for Nydia - you won't be disappointed!

Went for lunch with my wife and 17yr old son. We were in the area visiting UC Davis from LA. Decided to check out Old Sacaramento for lunch before heading home. We stumbled on this Mexican restaurant when it caught our attention because it had a nice deck with a view for lunch. Being from LA we frequently dine at Mexican restaurants. I had the 3 taquitos plate, my wife had a chile relleno plate, both with beans and rice. My son had a wet carne asada burrito. 1 michelada, an ice tea, and 1 horchata. Total bill was $98 (plus tip). Let me start by saying that the plates were very pricey for the portions that were served. Everything seemed kinda pricey ($18 for a bean & cheese burrito!). Our food was ok. Nothing special. Same for the $15 michelada. My wife and son seemed to have liked their plates for than I did. I was also very surprised, as I had could not remember the last time I went to a Mexican sit down restaurant and chips & salsa were not complimentary. Again, for the prices we paid. Cant complain about the service. Not the best l, but no complaints. Our server just took our order...and thats it. When he brought our bill though at the end and it was tip time, he was super nice and talkative all of a sudden. Idk if it was just me or maybe it was nothing. Also, the only time we bothered him was for napkins, and he came back with exactly 3 (small ones). Exactly 1 for each one of us lol. Anyways, overall the whole experience wasnt that bad, but we probably wont be returning. Definitely didnt get value or any satisfaction for what we paid.

I want to start by saying that if you are a African American do not dine here, you will be treated very poorly. My spouse and I was seated and given water and chips and was not asked If we wanted anything to drink, Or given a drink menu. I had to get up and ask for our drink menu from a lady at the front desk who wasn't even a server. Our server then comes over while I'm asking the lady for a drink menu and then asked if we wanted anything to drink. I told him that we were not ready to order a drink yet until we looked at the drink menu first. After we were ready to order our drink's. We watched our server walk back and forth from a table across from us and pleasantly serve them there drinks and food. And never came pass our table once to ask if we were even ready to order a drink. So we asked another server if we could order a drink. After that he eventually made his way to our table so we could order. I was confused about what I was ordering and he rushed us through our order without giving us a chance to clarify what we were ordering and walked off while I was talking and was not very pleasant at all. Once our food came he put our plate on the table and walked off very quickly without asking if we needed anything. So my boyfriend had to get up and ask someone for napkins. Since we were not given a chance to Clarify our order we were not happy with what was given to us. So we had to catch his attention and ask for another entree. Mind you he hasnt stoped serving the other table across from us the entire time. Once we caught his attention, we were rushed through our next order while he faced away from us, and walked off very quickly once again. He repeated back our order which was a shrimp quesillda. When we finally got our order it was a chicken quesadilla. At this point instead of not paying at all for a bad experience I just asked for my tab and left. do...
