I recently had the pleasure of dining at Priya Indian Cuisine's new location in Sacramento, CA, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! As a devoted fan of their Rancho Cordova establishment, I was thrilled to learn about their second location and couldn't wait to experience their delectable offerings once again.

Upon arriving at the smaller yet conveniently located spot off Howe Ave, I was pleased to find ample parking, making my visit even more enjoyable. While this location may not offer a lunch buffet like its sibling, the takeaway option suited my needs perfectly.

I decided to go with the Navrattan Korma and Garlic Naan for my meal, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The Navrattan Korma was an exquisite medley of flavors, skillfully spiced to perfection. It struck an impeccable balance between richness and spice, leaving me thoroughly satisfied.

The Garlic Naans, served fresh and piping hot, were a true highlight. Each bite was a heavenly delight, and they paired wonderfully with the Navrattan Korma. To my pleasant surprise, they even included a generous serving of rice, adding more depth to the overall dining experience.

I can confidently say that my dinner was an absolute treat for my taste buds, disappearing within minutes. The quality of the food speaks volumes about the expertise of the chefs at Priya Indian Cuisine.

Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and swift. In no time, my order was ready, and I was in and out of the restaurant within 15 minutes.

I am truly enamored with Priya Indian Cuisine, and this visit has further solidified my admiration for their culinary prowess. The flavors, the service, and the overall experience make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Indian dining adventure.

With my heart and palate thoroughly satisfied, I am already looking forward to my next visit to try their other enticing dishes. Congratulations to the owners on the success of their second location! Priya Indian Cuisine in Sacramento is undoubtedly a gem in the city's...

I can’t believe I haven’t written about Priya! I first noticed them because they are one of very few places in the Sac area that I know has dosa on their menu.

Ever since I left the bay and my favorite dosa spot, I’ve have craved a dosa. The warm crunchy flat bread with the thali and delightful potato filling. Mmmmm.

The parking lot is a little tricky to find depending on what directions Google gives you. It’s next to the TBell but doesn’t share the parking lot. BUT-there is parking so win if you’re looking to dine in.

The service is very kind and friendly. I have always been met with a smile. It feels like a small family run eatery, and the food really SHINES. I can see and hear the chef cooking in the back and my favorite thing is to sit and smell all of the wonderful spices as they make my order.

I have dined in and enjoyed it. There is little to no ambience to speak of, but it’s no frills space is perfect because I’m there to eat not care about “ambiance”. It’s a hole in the wall with GOOD food and that’s what I care about. I’ve also done take out and the food travels pretty well. The dosa that I love isn’t as crunchy compared to dining in (so definitely do that if you want the best experience for a dosa). But I am always happy to unwrap and make my dosa plate at home and enjoy every scrap of it. They had this aloo paratha that I decided to snack on in the car and WOW. It was a spicy kick in the pants but I’m into that and it was such a flavor bomb that I shoveled the whole thing in 15 mins on my drive back home. Oink!

Needless to say, everything I’ve had (saag paneer, tandoori chicken, dal curry and aloo gobi, dosa) have been so good. They tend to lean spicy so if your tolerance is more mild definitely let them know so they can adjust it for you. And don’t leave without one of their mango lassi! They make it fresh and I was lucky to have it made for me on my last trip there.

Go support this wonderful Indian restaurant. I know there are many options out there but if you have had a dosa before, please try them out! It’s...

My family unfortunately arrived at 8:15pm on a Saturday (they close at 8pm btw), they literally welcomed us with open arms to feed a family of 6.

We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb kebab, tandoori chicken, butter naan, vijaywada biryani, chicken 65 biryani, chilli chicken, masala dosa and 4 masala chai with one lassi.

The tandoori chicken came with 4 legs originally but the cook and server was so kind they gave us two extra (so everyone person on our table could get one piece). Never thought I could fall in love with a restaurant with a restaurant as much as I love this little place.

The furniture isn’t that great nor is the aesthetic of the place but honestly you won’t regret visiting this place because the food is just so mind blowing.

Also they stayed till 9:40pm to let us eat and assured us constantly that there was no rush. Usually we take 2 hours at a restaurant since we chat so much while eating out food but the food was so good we just talked and ate (an exaggeration) that we finished all the food within an hour. We barely had any left overs to take home even though we ordered a bit more than we normally eat.

Again 10/10 recommending...

Food and current pricing $15.99 was good for being an Indian buffet in Sacramento. The employees were friendly. The restaurant over charged sales tax. Sacramento has 2 different tax rates depending on whether the business is located within the City of Sacramento city limits (current sales tax 8.75%) or is in unincorporated area of Sacramento County (current sales tax 7.75%) as of Jan 2025. The restaurant charged 8.75% instead of 7.75% even though the business is in unincorporated area. See screenshot from State website and the receipt to verify that. Also the restaurant charged additional 2% processing fee. It’s not a big deal since the amount is small. But the extra money adds up quickly if you multiply by the number of customers the restaurant sees over time.

(Vegan eater) first time eating here and was pleasantly surprised! I went with my boyfriend and we got: Appetizer: samosa chaat Entree: vegetable biriyani, mushroom mutter, (2) garlic naan All were great and super tasty! The photos don’t portray the flavor profiles these dishes contained OR the quantities! We came in very hungry and left stuffed with a full container of leftovers to take home. If you’re going down Howe Ave and want Indian food, stop in at this spot!!
