I stumbled across this charming place on my way home one evening and I LOVED it so much, I just have to share! Nestled in the midst of gorgeous East Sac, this place is far more than a 'wine bar'. The team is inviting, interactive and makes you feel incredibly welcome. The walls are adorned with this incredible art that evokes much conversation. The vibe is intimate and full of whimsy. Then you have the plants and all the books (LOVE)! Best part...the adventurous wine and wildly THOUGHTFUL food. I'm a huge fan of small plate concepts that allow me to try several menu items. Chef/Owner, Joe has done a brilliant job creating hyper-seasonal dishes that appeal to all eating styles. I have to admit - I peeked into his kitchen on my way down the hallway and this space is pristine! Said a quick hello to Joe and thanked him for creating this space that has easily become my new favorite! Thank you kindly Joe!...

We ordered the peach burrata, shrimp cakes, and paella. Each dish was beautifully prepared, but the paella stood out as something truly special, unique and flavorful, with just the right balance of comfort and creativity. It was exactly what we were looking for: elevated without being fussy, rich in flavor, and clearly made with care.
We weren’t in the mood for a stuffy high end restaurant, and The Nook hit the sweet spot, intimate, welcoming, and full of character. A truly memorable night. We’ll...
Read moreMy daughter and her partner were in Sacramento visiting me and we decided to have dinner at The Nook. We shared several of the Bites which are small plates/appetizers. Joe, the owner, told us the menu changes frequently but some items make repeat appearances. We had the smashed cucumbers, carrots three ways, golden beets, assorted pickles, cast iron baked cheese and shawarma meatballs. Everything thing was amazing!! I thought I didn’t like beets, spicy foods or goat cheese but Joe changed my mind about all of these. I can’t say any one dish was my favorite but I can say that I now understand why the carrots three ways are often on the menu. I will certainly visit The Nook again; hopefully very soon. Thank you Joe for a...
