Some food just hits you right in the soul! Our experience here was absolutely wonderful, and the wine paired perfectly with everything we ordered. The standout for us was the pot pie—it instantly transported me back home. We have a deep love for French cuisine, and the rich, buttery, savory veggie filling truly hit the mark. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon! Thank you for a fantastic meal and a memorable experience!

This is your friendly neighbourhood wine and tapas bar, with enough options to keep you grazing while you enjoy your wine, or wines. Nothing copious here - just small plates for sharing with friends. And don't forget the tinned options, because nobody can make that kind of food like the Spanish! We arrived starving, so we ate more than if we'd come for a couple of tapas and some wine - so your cost should be lower.

The food here is always delicious. I had wine and small plate shares with a friend one night and went again for the cafe part and had the most delicious charcoal mocha (not too sweet which is perfect for me) and the veggie frittata and it was all lovely. Addendum 2/7/24: The pot pie is soooooo delicious! The flavors are perfect and so comforting. I’m also so happy the elected to make it veggie!

I stumbled across this charming place on my way home one evening and I LOVED it so much, I just have to share! Nestled in the midst of gorgeous East Sac, this place is far more than a 'wine bar'. The team is inviting, interactive and makes you feel incredibly welcome. The walls are adorned with this incredible art that evokes much conversation. The vibe is intimate and full of whimsy. Then you have the plants and all the books (LOVE)! Best part...the adventurous wine and wildly THOUGHTFUL food. I'm a huge fan of small plate concepts that allow me to try several menu items. Chef/Owner, Joe has done a brilliant job creating hyper-seasonal dishes that appeal to all eating styles. I have to admit - I peeked into his kitchen on my way down the hallway and this space is pristine! Said a quick hello to Joe and thanked him for creating this space that has easily become my new favorite! Thank you kindly Joe!...

I took my wife to The Nook Bistro for her birthday, and we had a phenomenal experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm, unpretentious vibe of this soulful little gem tucked away in the heart of the McKinley Park neighborhood set the tone for a perfect evening.

We ordered the peach burrata, shrimp cakes, and paella. Each dish was beautifully prepared, but the paella stood out as something truly special, unique and flavorful, with just the right balance of comfort and creativity. It was exactly what we were looking for: elevated without being fussy, rich in flavor, and clearly made with care.

We weren’t in the mood for a stuffy high end restaurant, and The Nook hit the sweet spot, intimate, welcoming, and full of character. A truly memorable night. We’ll...

My daughter and her partner were in Sacramento visiting me and we decided to have dinner at The Nook. We shared several of the Bites which are small plates/appetizers. Joe, the owner, told us the menu changes frequently but some items make repeat appearances. We had the smashed cucumbers, carrots three ways, golden beets, assorted pickles, cast iron baked cheese and shawarma meatballs. Everything thing was amazing!! I thought I didn’t like beets, spicy foods or goat cheese but Joe changed my mind about all of these. I can’t say any one dish was my favorite but I can say that I now understand why the carrots three ways are often on the menu. I will certainly visit The Nook again; hopefully very soon. Thank you Joe for a...
