I had a Father’s Day gift card for $50, so decided to take my wife in for some Bang Bang Shrimp. Went on a Wednesday evening and seated within 5 minutes.
Went on a Wednesday because of the half price Bang Bang Shrimp with an entree. We really came for the Shrimp and figured to take most of entrees home. We enjoyed warm bread and olive oil while waiting.
Our Bang Bang Shrimp came hot in 10 minutes. What a disappointment! The Bang Bang Shrimp was Ho Hum Shrimp!! Wasn’t it Bonefish that started the spicy shrimp years ago and many followed with similar dishes? We actually first visited Bonefish for the Bang Bang Shrimp.
I caught the attention of a manager and he explained not everyone likes it spicy. Then why not ask customer for a heat level, like Thai food. We usually get our Thai food at the top of the heat level! I asked the manager for some Cayenne Pepper to spice it up but could only supply red pepper flakes. Disappointing.
On the other hand our entrees were excellent. My fish for Fish and Chips were perfect. Very hot, crunchy outside, tender and flaky inside. And the Chips were some of the best fries I have ever had! My wife was ok with her entree.
Great service. Great atmosphere, great entrees. Minus a star for the disappointing Bang Bang Shrimp. Might influence future visits.
Sunday after church and the gang picked Bonefish Grill. I think memories of their great Bang Bang Shrimp from the adults were a big influence. My wife, daughter, granddaughter & friend and myself. Seated right away and our server Lydia took drink orders while we looked over the menu.
Now I don’t join a lot of restaurant clubs because I like to try different places and foods. But I did join the Bonefish club for the free Bang Bang Shrimp. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. Wife ordered Cheddar Bacon Frittata, two teen girls picked burgers, daughter chose Fish & Chips and I decided on the Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout. My wife also wanted to try the Crab Corn Chowder.
Lydia brought my Bang Bang Shrimp. Now I was hoping the freebie had 5 pieces, one for each of us. Holey Moley! It was a meal in itself huge hot and fantastic! We all enjoyed it sooo much. Next time I might just that for my meal because I do like spicy.
Our meals came, with beautiful smiles from Lydia. The Crab Corn Chowder was delightful. Burgers were ok. Fish & Chips were great. My wife was a little disappointed . I mean who comes to a great seafood place and gets eggs? Lol. My trout was perfectly cooked and the Artichoke Hearts were a great accompaniment.
And of course the ladies couldn’t pass up the Macadamia Nut Brownies with ice cream, which they agreed was the perfect finish. Great food, great service, great ambiance. What are you...
Read moreThere is a reason that any serious foodie/Chef doesn't patron Bonefish Grill on McMullen Booth Clearwater. If quality was an issue 8 yrs ago, it is mediocre at BEST now.
Confirming once again the reasons why I've abstained due to inferior quality, quantity, and overpriced food. Let's start with the simplicity of a question on the specials menu to server. Is the Grouper Black? "Yes, I'm sure it is", knowing once the unknowledgable server checked of course not. Parasite ridden Red Grouper was confirmed. Leave it to the customer to educate the server, for the price point an impossibility of the cleaner Black Grouper.
Opting for the Sable Fish Rockefeller AKA Butter Fish. Sable should be moist, not stringy which is due to old frozen fish. Another guest at the table had no complaints with the dish, however I was the only Chef seated at our 6 top. Starting with it's odor as soon as the dish was served. By the 2nd bite, just to confirm it's odor, it was old. The Parmasean Risotto was think and gummy. An insult to Risotta lovers. The server was no where to be found once serving nor did she swing back and check if all were satisfied which any adept server would have done. Requiring me to get up from the table and go to the Host stand and ask for the server to return to our table. Not surprising since she had no idea if Black or Red Grouper was on the menu.
I then ordered a Mid rare Filet to be pushed as the rest of the table was on their last bites. I received a RARE, RAW Filet. So rare, one of the guests made the comment that it was cooked on the hoof. In fact BLOOD RARE! Of course, she was no where to be found. This time flagging down another server to get ours back to the table. Her comment-" we tried to get it out fast to you as requested! By now, the rest of our table had determined that she'd be a better Hostess. Inferior quality, quantity and HORRIBLE service doesn't begin to describe Bonefish's failures. Happy to spread the news of how this location fails at all three requirements when dining out. Service, Quality and Quantity. Particularly since the server didn't follow protocol and request a manager to come to our table. Instead this review is now added to my 4.2M views on Google also rated top 10% Restaurant Reviewer. I customarily will cut slack to hard working conscience servers. She was neither!
After reading other customers reviews of also dissapointing meals, it's evidently a management problem and will report...
Read moreIt is usually hard to go to places that will accommodate those with specific disabilities but not this place! They will make sure you are taken care of. Not gonna lie, I was worried about going here for my 15 year anniversary and wife’s birthday (double whammy). I called early in the morning after they opened (1100) and spoke with a manager by the name of Paul. I told Paul that I understood how busy they can get and that I need his help. I am a disabled veteran that would be in a wheelchair and wanted his help getting me a comfortable table to help me and our family enjoy the meal. Paul I formed me that the time we wanted to come was a very busy time and asked about my flexibility. We worked out a later time (only 30 minutes later) and we had a reservation and were set! When we came in, we were taken care of. We watched the staff help many of the older customers get back and forth safely and with most comfort. Being the holiday season, that goodwill made the place shine brighter! Our waiter was James. He was extremely busy but when he made any errors, he made sure he would fix them and worked extra hard to make us comfortable! Our food was excellent and at the end, I got to meet the manager Paul. After speaking with him, I realized why the place was full of goodwill and hardworking people, it starts with Paul himself. He was extremely on point. In the beginning, I was worried and prepared to deal with the worse and by the end, we received more than we could have imagined! Bonefish, Paul, and James, thank you for being great! You make it look and feel easy! I highly recommend anyone come to this location and have a great meal and...
