ABSOLUTELY NOT a safe space for families with dogs OVER 15 pounds.
My family and I arrived home from Aspen to our A/C not working and needed somewhere to stay with our rescue emotional support animals until we could call someone in the morning. We decided to stay here since family from many sides stay here while in town and have had nothing but amazing experiences even while traveling with animals. The stay started out amazing and was very enjoyable until this afternoon. There was a guest across the way who had said something slyly about big dogs whilst entering her room. I brush it off knowing she was talking about my dogs. Some time goes by where I'm taking my best trained dog to go to the bathroom. As I'm closing my door this same woman decides to open hers and with my dog by my side she starts screaming like a banshee as soon as she sees him. He's an emotional support animal that works with children with learning disabilities so naturally he becomes concerned. He goes towards her and she starts hitting him with her door. My mother then steps into the hallway to see what's going on. I continue to take my dog outside and tell her to not scream like that and alerting my dog. She starts laughing maniacally. My mother then asks what's going on and she's accusing of my dog for going after her and her dog. My dog and I walk on about our business and when we get outside he starts shaking uncontrollably and is visibly upset. I have never seen him this way. I go to let the front desk know of the situation but not complaining until I learn that she's the General Manager that is residing in the hotel with her dog named "Killer" and her kids. I wouldn't stay here if you want a safe environment for your family and animals. That woman is bizarro. Subsequently said family will be recommended to stay else where...
Read moreI want to start this review with saying I have stayed there before, and absolutely enjoyed it both times. The front desk personnel Rose, deserves all the praise and all the raises. She is passionate about her work and went the extra mile with me.
My girlfriend secured our room about a month prior, we were supposed to go see a concert close by at a venue close to this hotel. The concert was canceled but we decided to still enjoy the night out.
When we arrived Rose greeted us with a big smile and within a few clicks of the computer we were designated to go to room 132. When we walked into the room, the pungent smell of cooking oil was present. It smelled as if someone had just finished cooking something, my girlfriend remarked she felt it smelled dank and musty. I walked down to the front desk, asked kindly if there were any rooms and Rose changed in within a few minutes. She was very understanding, and even remarked that she would try her best to accommodate us. She did, and I can’t thank her enough. We then moved our stuff to our new room, 210. That room was very spacious and smelled great. I instantly always go to the beds and check for signs of bed bugs or pests… not a single trace of any of that, thank you and bravo guys. The AC was a little hard to cool down the room, but given the space that makes sense that it cannot instantly be 67 degrees right away.
So overall; the staff took such good care of my concerns, she’s professional and deserves a raise or minimally a firm handshake. The rooms were pretty decent, clean, and although one room smelled kinda mildewing and Smokey, the second room was phenomenal. The AC systems could always use work at any hotel in Florida, but they did good with the AC system they had in place.
Thanks again, would definitely stay...
Read moreI would like to share my experience for the three night stay I had in Candlewood Suites Safety Harbor. Before making the reservation, I was very much hesitant to book at this hotel as my wife is allergic to dogs and this property allows the pets in the room. But when I read the google reviews I noticed the staff take a very good care of the property and the hotel is very clean. When we first checked in I was very impressed by how spacious the room was and also its cleanness. However, we had a little bit of situation after the second night when we asked the front desk to clean our room. Since I have a one-year old daughter, the room was messed by her food bits and I asked the front desk twice to send someone to clean the room for us when we are out. When we came back, we noticed no one showed up to clean the room. I was first very upset about that and went to the front desk to complain about it. The gentleman I spoke with was very sorry about the situation and did not expect their staff to miss our room for cleaning. He said he would not charge us for the night to compensate for this. The point that I try to make is although I was very unhappy about the situation, I saw how professional the hotel staff are to take care of an unexpected situation. This is not about the money, this is all about how much they are committed to their clients and when they are sorry about something is not just in words, they do some action about that. I am very pleased that I chose this hotel for my family's vacation and will definitely pick this hotel again for...
