As I was walking out of my favorite barber shop hats off in the Winn-Dixie Plaza and walking over to Metro to pay my phone bill I noticed a little shop called van dough and after looking at the wonderfully designed artwork / sign and the enticing mini Donuts, hi coffee and cold brew as well as ice cream and milkshakes my trip to Metro was postponed as not only were the two employees wonderfully positive answered so many questions for me and made me one of the best milkshakes in my life I can't compare it to other milkshakes because apparently Richmond an old school classic donut is Blended in with the milkshake I got the pic I believe peanut butter cup with cookies and cream bottom line it looks wonderful the kitchen is open so you can see how clean and obviously how serious they take Health standards which is rare these days. If I remember correctly the two employees were Marco and Jesse and they were wonderful and were a big part of my experience with enjoying my milkshake I'm actually going to possibly apply here as I'm looking for a part-time job but regardless of that I'd give this a 5.5 out of 5 if I could that point five came from the friendly customer service and welcoming atmosphere and just as I sat out front as I was waiting for the Metro store reopen for lunch I had to go 6 people stop and ask about the shop and I was already ecstatic just being able to tell them about it. This is right next to my house I plan on visiting as often as possible the milkshake was a very decent size who's under $6 so we're already cheaper than Baskin Robbins and well that about sums it up try it yourself and make sure you give them a review because it looks like they don't have to right now and they deserve 500 because this is a company that deserves to not only succeed but grow and expand. It's always a great feeling when you know that the people handling your food are...
Read moreGreat service every single time!! A family friend introduced us to Van Dough and we have visited this locally owned shop, five times since then, and have always been impressed with the doughnuts and the myriad of topping combinations, but especially the service. The doughnut batter tastes like it’s made from scratch, and they are fried fresh through the busier times of the day to stay ahead of service, but not to the point where they are sitting around for hours, only to become stale. The toppings used on the warm doughnuts have a fresh flavor without that ‘processed food’ taste. The last two times I stopped in to order a box of 25, I had to wait due to the crowd ahead of me. When I stopped by the penultimate time, they offered me a freshly prepared doughnut, as they continued to fill my order. I also had to wait during the last visit, but that was fine, as I took the opportunity to run an errand. Upon return, I received my box of 25 along with an additional box of three. From my perspective, this small gesture of extra service, as well as the consistently courteous and friendly staff, goes a long way. Thank you Van...
Read moreSit down Dunkin’! These mini donuts are worth breaking our carefully planned diets. Off carbs? Forget about it, eat the donut! Isn’t that too much sugar? Ha! Can you be too good looking? It’s just the amount if sugar I needed to actually write this review. Did I mention the donuts are WARM? I’m a strict healthy diet person, eating outside of my food zone has to be worth it. These donuts make the cut and more. The place is cute, clean, fast and friendly. There should be a long line to get in, but they were not super busy even on a Saturday morning. I expect that will change soon, so I asked how to order ahead and they said just call.
-Owe money to the mob? Bring warm mini donuts when you ask for another week. -Cheated on your girlfriend? Bring the donuts when you tell her it wasn’t you! -Trashed your moms house? Bring these donuts before you claim not to know what happened!
