Stopped in with a few friends and ordered to go. Upon entering there is a small round hightop table to the right of the door with a paper menu taped to it . There was a small counter with bags of chips and cookies and a long narrow walkway which led to the back of the place where a sign indicated it was their indoor dining area. They also have a few tables to sit just out front. Their menu had a wide variety of sandwiches with unique names and they all sounded good and they had a good selection of craft beers but we didn't order any beer. I opted for the Who Doesn't Love Italian 9inch sandwich. Me , being in the top 10% of eatery reviewers on Google have had many sandwiches from many different places and I have to say this was one of the worse (if not the worse) Italian sandwich I have had anywhere. The description of the sandwich on the menu couldn't have been further than what I pictured it to be. The bread which was not at all fresh tasting made up the bulk of the sandwich. It had 2 thin slices of provolone (one per half) , there was 2 thinly sliced pieces of tavern ham that was almost shredded ,and the same with the capicola along with 2 very thinly sliced pieces of Salami per side. You get a choice of sides with the sandwich and I ordered their Pasta Salad which came in a small container the size of what a place would put your salad dressing in to go if you ordered a salad. The other options was potato salad or macaroni salad. For nearly $20 (18 and change + tax) I was extremely disappointed with what I received. The other 2 sandwiches that my friends ordered I did not see but after speaking with them after they had gotten back home they said that their sandwiches were not very good at all . This is just our experience and opinion but after reading many of the other great reviews this place has gotten I am left baffled to say the least . I will post the pictures of my Italian in this review and like they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"! We love Safety Harbor and plan on visiting more often but as for The Sandwich on Main ,it's a one and done...
Read moreThey provide a beautiful plate. Their quaint front and ordering uncovers an enjoyable back eating area. Through their quality care and customer service, they provide great, good quality, and unique sandwiches and sides. The chef carefully and tastefully puts together yummy creation.
Their chip option is unique and good quality. Their unique, retro, wide variety, healthy and made with real sugar glass bottle mostly soda drinks they keep in stock are fun to look at and try. Are all the stocked soda bottles fresh? I wish more people knew about their sodas so they could keep rotating inventory.
Second, I wish I had a photo and more people knew about this place with their wonderful option. Third, I wish they had more seating to accommodate guests. I hope to find more quality sandwich shops.
I really like the quality sandwich with a decent sized heart, quality salad with creamy ranch dressing.
They provide tasteful vegetables. Their small squash salad also is nice with good flavor. I wish for more healthy chips and soda.
Through meeting other locals, I wish they could collaborate and create a fun paper placemat advertisement. Also, I wish the paper could be comprised of organized squares sharing each individual advertisement. Lastly, I would enjoy looking at some local food ideas and option and other local general personal and home advertisement.
I really enjoy when my sandwich bread is softer and flattened. I enjoy trying a butterscotch soda and sour cream and chive chips. I really wish for another yummy half sandwich and salad with ranch. 🍞 🥩 🧀 🧈 🥔 🥬 🍅 🥒...
Read moreThe food is great but the customer service is terrible from the owner (not the wait staff). We placed an order to-go and when we arrived, we saw there was an event going on in safety harbor so decided we would stay and eat there. We asked if we could sit at one of the tables outside and we would be happy to tip the waiter even though our food and order have already been completed. The waiter said that shouldn’t be a problem and went to ask the owner. The owner then said no. The waiter was uncomfortable now having to relay this to us and verbalized that to the owner, however she didn’t budge. The waiter came back and apologized and said no. When we then we’re checking out and letting them know we were upset since we were paying customers, she chimed in, very abrasively, questioning us “would Chili’s let you order to-go and then let you dine in?” We responded probably since we said we would tip, lol. But the fact she is comparing their customer service to a chilis just shows what she is striving for. Oh, and to add, at the time we went they had one customer sitting inside and every other table both inside and outside were open with no line. We would not have been taking any potential business away. I’ve been a customer here for years - I used to live across the street. Unfortunately, this experience was so bad that we won’t be...
