I really wanted to like this place, but I had a horrible experience from start to finish. My boyfriend and I decided to order a pizza from G's and I suggested we try the Mac and Cheeza, something I had seen advertised on the sign outside G's every time I drove past the place. I was intrigued by the idea of a mac and cheese pizza, and curiosity eventually got the best of me. I wish it hadn't. I do want to mention that the delivery was super fast and the delivery guy was really friendly. He did an outstanding job. I have zero complaints about the delivery.
When the pizza arrived, we brought it in the kitchen and opened up the box. The pizza was hot, white and lumpy. It was definitely not what I had been expecting. I forged ahead nonetheless, and pulled a slice off the pie. It was covered with large reddish brown chunks of meat that the menu referred to as bacon. I was still eyeing my slice cautiously, and I looked over at my boyfriend who was just polishing off his first slice. "How is it?" I asked. "It's ... good," he said flatly, pondering the second slice of pizza on his plate. I bit into my slice of pizza and began chewing, when I realized there was something rubbery in my mouth. It was a piece of fat, presumably from the bacon. I spat the first bite into my napkin. Just my luck, order a pizza and I grab a slice with a big chunk of bacon fat on it. I was hungry though, so I took another bite of my mac and cheeza, and as I was chewing the second bite, I realized that there was a massive, hard chunk of bacon in my mouth. The pizza was a wet, starchy and tasteless mess and I was beginning to suspect that whoever made this pizza may not have cared whether I enjoyed it. I spat the second bite into my napkin and ceded defeat. "This pizza is ... terrible," I exclaimed to my boyfriend. He nodded. "I'm calling the restaurant to see if we can get a refund." I called G's and explained to the person on the other end that I had ordered a Mac and Cheeza and I was not satisfied with my purchase. We had paid $40 for the pizza and delivery altogether. It was a lot of money to spend for the worst pizza I'd ever ordered. I was put on hold for a few minutes, then the manager got on the line and I explained that I wasn't satisfied with the pizza I'd ordered. He wanted to know what was wrong, and I explained about the chunk of bacon fat and the general lack of appeal altogether. He was silent for a bit, then offered me a ten percent discount on my next purchase. I thanked him, but I was pretty sure I didn't want to make another purchase from this restaurant in the future. I inquired as to why a refund wasn't an option. The manager paused again before stating that he couldn't offer a refund because it was a delivery order and if I wanted a refund, I would have to bring the pizza back to the restaurant. I agreed to bring the pizza back, and informed the manager I'd be there with the pizza in 10 minutes. We grabbed the pizza, got in the vehicle and drove down to G's. We came to the cash register and explained that we were there to return a pizza. The person behind the counter wanted to know what was wrong with the pizza. We explained, and she took the pizza to the back. Eventually a young man with an aggravated air about him swept to the counter and snapped, "Why is half the pizza gone if you didn't like it?!?" I explained that my boyfriend had eaten two slices and I'd grabbed another two slices but thrown them in the garbage after a couple bites. "I'm not refunding the delivery fee or the tip," the young man snapped and pressed a button on the cash register, looked at me, and snapped, "Have a good night!" Apparently there wasn't going to be a receipt for this transaction. This was about a week and a half ago, and my boyfriend was just charged $20 by G's Pizzeria... Update (to G's reply): We were not offered a $10 credit, it was 10% off the next order.
Please stick to the facts, G's, when you respond to customer complaints. Gaslighting people...
Read moreOn 3/23/21, we held our wedding reception at G's. Half the room was full of chairs stacked up on tables, no room for our first dance, cake, or gifts. It looked quite sloppy for a wedding party... Booked weeks in advance... Our server dropped off our food and NEVER CAME BACK. I bussed my own tables, yes, on my wedding day. We would have ordered many more drinks, food, and drinks! I wanted to do shots of Patron with my in-laws, but instead I never even got a refill of water. Anyways, any time I had to go find our server, she was at the bar, texting away on her phone. She was talking crap with the bartender, too, while I stood there, waiting to be served. It was my WEDDING DAY and I did not get waited on, but instead, waited on my whole family. After clearing the table, and serving dessert, and clearing the table again, I spoke with the rudest manager I've ever met in my life. She had 0 sympathy to offer, barely an apology, and many eye rolls. IT WAS MY WEDDING DAY, and I had to wait on my own family. We will never book another party here. The female manager did nothing but cause my mother to get even more upset, the owner offered 10% off of our bill. Of course, gratuity was included, but I did most of the work so my dad mentioned it should be split between the server and the bride. 😂 What a joke. We love G's and eat here probably twice a week, but we will never come back. They offered us excuses, saying they were understaffed, the health department was there, etc. If our server was SO busy, why was she on her phone at the bar? If the health department was there, why did a manager not approach us ahead of time and let us know service would be slow? One of the dishes was COMPLETELY wrong and they refused to take it off the bill. My wedding reception was a disaster. I would have rather cooked the food myself at my house and served it. I am an industry worker and this party was a joke. I'm embarrassed. I want to have another whole wedding reception and do it all over again by myself... Thanks a lot, G's. If you were too understaffed to handle our party, you should have cancelled or communicated that to us.
Dinner on their heated patio was excellent. It was so nice to be around people after having everything shut down for so long. Maddie gave exceptional service, she's a wonderful server. We're excited to come back and try more...
Read moreI tried writing this review with a time by time breakdown, but it vastly surpassed Google's character limit.
So in summary: Was told that "Katie" would be our server. Sat 15 minutes before drink orders were taken. Had to track someone down.
Then "Addy" came to be our waitress. In all fairness, she was sweet and was being completely overworked so I don't blame her for any of this.
Ordered drinks.
They came out in waves. 10 minutes 2 were brought out. 5 more minutes 2 more. 5 more minutes 2 more. We ordered food when we ordered drinks. 2 Appetizers came out 15 minutes after they were ordered. 48 minutes after first drinks were ordered - the FINAL drink came out (after the two appetizers had been delivered.) First entree comes out.
Then we notice that "Katie" was back from the circus, or wherever she went, as she started helping tables next to us. Who knows, maybe she hates kids and didn't want to serve us.
10 minutes later 2 more entrees. 5 minutes later 2 more entrees. Then another 10 minutes later the final entree came out and it was the WRONG FRIGGIN ITEM. We're not talking "oh, I didn't order onions on this." We're talking the equivalent of ordering a green bean casserole and being brought out a live horse.
Another 15 minutes the right entree was brought out. Then after THAT came out, my daughter's apple slices came and then the third appetizer.
Complained. Wanted to speak to the manager. Was told he'd be right there. After waiting an additional 10 minutes - - - no one ever came and we gave up.
Arrived at 7:05 PM. Left at 9:22 PM.
But damn the food was good, which spares them...
